Marlion has played 74 games with 5 more this season which gets him to 79 just 21 short
We need to make sure we get him to 100 and shouldnt be hard to do as he is able to play multiple positions and would be the perefect sub
Agree he'd be a great sub. I'm still not sure he makes it to 100, not on merit at least.

This guy, as the English would say, has made me look like a "right mug".
I haven't been so wrong about a player since Corey Ellis. Thankfully I was wrong in the opposite way this time.

Well played sir.

Ross was always going to be this good, actually he is going to be an absolute star. People forget he was an U16 Vic Metro Captain, as a junior he was explosive midfielder who just smashed his way through packs then delivered the ball with insane efficiency, then missed U18 Vic due to injury...

but got his body right to win the Oakleigh Chargers’ best and fairest in 2018 from just 12 games. He is elite over 20m at under 2.9s and has elite stats for a marking midfielder.

He has added the endurance and has even started to tackle, will be a best and fairest winner at Richmond before his career is out.
And yet Dimma still saw a half backman in him, despite him doing this sort of stuff even at AFL level in his first handful of games, until injury robbed him.

Crazy, he should have been in the team and in the guts in the 2019 GF.

WTF for? He's terrible.
He's not terrible. He's playing very well in the VFL and has had one game at AFL all year, and then he barely got a chance in the midfield. You can't really judge a player on AFL form if they haven't played there.

One game this year and one game last year from round 6 onward, so that's 18 months. He had a 23 game possession against the Saints rd.2 last year in the AFL, so he has shown he can do it, and he's a far better VFL player right now than than he has ever been. Not saying he should be in the 22, but he's still a chance.

Incarceration probably won't help either. Unless he gets weekend leave.

Hey maybe the AFL framed him so we couldn't get him to 100?
The way they operate I wouldn't put it past them.

Nah, he's terrible. Can't kick, can't get easy ball, can't run, inconsistent, weak. First delisted IMO.

fair chance his trial isn't for another 1-2 years. Would be just our luck it's a few days after his 99th.

Do you watch the VFL, his kicking was highlighted by Morris in his presser, and he's starting to get his fair share of 'easy' ball. He's been our best VFL mid for quite a while and is improving every week. He does need to get stronger for sure, if he can't do that I will probably agree with you.

I've watched most VFL games this season, yes. he has been a bit better the last couple of weeks. Still goes missing for quarters at a time. He's a 4th year not a kid anymore. Even his legendary quick hands regularly miss the target.

Agree he's our best VFL mid but he's our only VFL mid since Ross leveled up. Our midfield depth is appalling. Ross was far better at VFL level.

Exactly why he should get another year, not saying he necessarily deserves it, but we have zero backup. Being generous he's a 50-50 bet, but he is our only half decent backup.

If he got some strength and weight behind him he would play his role so much better, can't understand why adding 5kg's hasn't been the club's no 1 priority with him.

Yeah that's fine. Old mate said he should come into the AFL team. No way.

We need to recruit some midfield depth badly.

In 2016 Dusty was a backman. 😂

Exactly a few weeks ago they were agreeing with the MC dropping him.

Nobody thought he was going to be dropped or was saying he should be dropped. When he was left out it was a clear sign - to those of us foolish enough to be informed by such things as clear signs - the selectors wanted to see some improvement in certain areas we would never notice with casual observation. Ross himself has said he has total faith in what the coaches tell him.

So get off your low horse and join the rest of us in clear sign land. :)

Can't have been an easy year for Ross, so far he has played 7 games, but only 3 have been full games, the rest as the sub where he has come in late in games or not at all which makes it hard to build consistency/momentum in a year.

Add to that he has been asked in each of his 3 years to change his body/game style to fill a different role. Started as an inside mid, then asked to play as a HBF last year and now they're seemingly asking him to play as an outside midfielder. Versatility is a good thing and hopefully by having him exposed to the different roles it gives him a better chance to make it as he gains experience and feels more comfortable in different roles.

Lets not forget the kid isn't even 21 yet and like a lot of others from the 2018 draft is effectively in just his second season in terms of his development and being able to play proper games week to week.
Posted this just over 2 years ago about Jack and it's great to finally see him get that run of games that has allowed him to build confidence and consistency and it's not a shock to see that the development that was put into him by playing him across different positions has helped him become a more well rounded player, who can win his own footy in the contest, but can also link up on the outside and then push forward and hit the scoreboard. Hopefully he remains with the club moving forward because there is definitely a spot for him on the wing for the foreseeable future.

Rubbish as in the end he went into the Swans game as was in the best. So where did he go do all this improvement?
Stop making things up.
I don’t ride horses so if you’re on one I suspect it’s a donkey.
