It's not a perspective, it's people having an incorrect understanding of the laws.

So you think your understanding of the laws of the game is absolute, but you think no-one else in here has any understanding? Have I got that right?

You're also not willing to accept that some people may not agree with you, and call it a day?

This level of cockiness is what makes it so delightful, that for all your country's bravado, self-aggrandizement, whinging and Piers Morgan led moral lecturing and meltdowns - that the Ashes stay with us no matter what happens today.

Oh and we're only 48 runs behind now.

Don't think they're right about the laws. The left groove was broken before Bairstow had it.

The laws require for wickets to be broken fairly the complete removal whilst the fielder has the ball. Accordingly, the wicket was not fairly broken on that occasion- complete removal did not occur fairly.

_________

29.2 Breaking the wicket fairly

29.2.1 The wicket is broken fairly if a bail is completely removed from the top of the stumps, or a stump is struck out of the ground,

29.2.1.1 by the ball,

...

29.2.1.5 by a fielder with his/her hand or arm, providing that the ball is held in the hand or hands so used, or in the hand of the arm so used

No, I'm sure there are some in here who do have a basic understanding of the laws, but there's also loads that have absolutely no clue.

You're also not willing to accept that some people may not agree with you, and call it a day?

Not agreeing is something you can do with an opinion. Not a fact that is clearly stated in the laws.

Complete removal in this case is constituted by the removal from the 2nd groove. That happend when Bairstow had the ball in his gloves.

(And from the additional replays looks like it happened when Smith was out his crease)
