We are doing the sporting thing by preparing a pitch that can yield a result… just wish it wasn’t a result within 2.5 days.

The India method is just the groundsmen caving to the political pressure that India must win at home. That’s why our CWC win in front of Modi at his home ground was so sweet — not only won the World Cup but shat all over his arrogant narrative.

Be glad we live in a country where sport is (mostly) free from the meddling of political leaders

So concede the trophy and submit to endless over the top taunting because we're too honourable to play by the same standards as the opposition?

Seems awful.

Fall from grace, needs a lot of work on his technique and cockiness if he’s to have a long career.
Konstas this innings has still done better than Ussie, Labs and Head, plus almost scored as many as Smith. Given their experience I'd say that's where our major concern is - not a kid who scored more than 9 Indian players did yesterday.

The players aren't very good? I don't know what people except tbh. Smith is great, head is a gun but inconsistent. The rest are meh. They don't average high in FC cricket so why would the dominate tests

We expect the first five wickets to roughly double the run tally of the last five. Instead, we breath a sigh of relief when our best bowler comes into bat, because he's just about the best bet in our lineup to steady the ship with a fighting 25-40.

And we all love Travis Head, but as far as I'm concerned, a "gun but inconsistent" isn't a gun.

I am a bit surprised that we produced a green top for this Test. It provides a fitting finale for the series, but I can't help but cast my mind back to the India tour where they prepared an absolute road for the last Test with the series at 2-1

How long do you think they had to get it all sorted out?

On December 29 at one point it looked like Australia would have to win this match just to tie the series, and for long stages on December 30 it looked like they would need to win this test to win the series.

Siraj is a better bowler than people give him credit for, people are just piling on due to his heated passion/mood swings.

Konstas isn't up to it, got sucked in by Bumrah's playful banter and there's only so much a BBL style approach to test cricket can take you. He's not going to be a career test player.

Hahaha better than watching marnus

Like Merv Hughes , " hey ump how many bowled?" "3" "how many to go?"
In his book, he states that the umpire responded:

"that's 3 you've bowled, and there are 4 to come, because I'm going to no ball you for being a smart arse"

How long do they need? They seemingly flattened out the Melbourne pitch a bit after Cummins and McDonald saw it and were apparently concerned that it was offering too much. Wouldn't have been too hard to produce a less green wicket.

In saying that, I am glad we didn't. I would rather win this Test and the series deserved a gripping finale.
