I wonder what the plausible physics around that catch would be - easier to flick up like that if the finger was always under it? Easier to flick up if it is already bouncing a bit off the ground? All irrelevant?

You could clearly see after the ball rises the curled index finger was under it the entire time
It's a 2D camera from outside the ground. Saw a caught and bowled in the women's BBL. The regular camera had it very doubtful, stump cam had it caught 5 or 6 inches above the ground. 2D cameras are useless for low catches.

I despise Wilson but that was a tough call on the evidence. I think he was even expecting and wanting other angles.
I actually don’t think it was a bad decision. But I most definitely didn’t like Wilson broadcasting on his very first fleeting look that the ball “rolled on the grass”
