Am old enough to remember him winning a clearance against the Pies, wheeling around and knifing one straight onto Stephenson's chest between two Pies players and with a trailing defender right on Stevos hammer. Can't kick but
Mate. I kicked a goal on my natural right from 45m out in the right hand pocket at Arden St once - threaded the footy through a 1ft opening like a king. That doesn't mean I'm a great kick.

His kicking is okay and relatively IMO not a big concern, he has hit some rippers and he has shanked a few. He is not in any way our 2nd best kick as of today.

I agree he has delivered a few beauties as I seen them myself.
But thanks as I’m only posting what I was told.

And of course can’t kick for s**t isn’t the exact wording , a jam tin was referenced.

And I will add there is no doubting he’ll be an absolute champ of a footballer for us.
The Bull in 1 of his recent radio interviews was asked his favourite and least favourite to deliver the ball inside 50 to him.
Favourite? Paul Curtis
Least favourite? George Wardlaw
Went on to joke about him regularly sending in helicopters at training.

Some people suggesting he needs to work on his kicking or isn't totally immune to being dropped shouldn't mean 3 pages of pearl clutching. We all (except for maybe 1) think he's going to be a gun.

Would love to see people applying the "can hit some rippers" = generally good kick logic to Aaron Hall.

He can kick but at this stage he is just inconsistent.. he had a couple horrible kicks on Saturday.
I think consistency will greatly improve with experience.
Because he goes 100 miles an hour, I think he can sometimes rush his kicks… he needs to take half a second to steady himself before kicking.
I also think he tries to hit the perfect low bullet pass when sometimes a softer weighted kick will do. He is all or nothing with his kicks ATM.
No doubt fatigue would play a part too… which will obviously improve with more games.

Exactly.

As with any player it's the sum of the parts.

There's a chasm of difference between when you've just won the contested possession and are kicking under pressure v. running past, or round the back, or receiving the lateral pass, and still shanking 50% of your kicks.

I tended to have a soft spot for Hall - overall. However, I suspect if George starts amassing 36 disposals per game and turning over 40% of them, whilst offering nothing in terms of pressure on the opposition, he’ll be in a spot of bother on BigFooty.

I've read some shit over the last 23 years on this site, but the last 3 pages makes me question the intelligence , actually continuation of the human species.

Or maybe the thread on Lance Picone from 2007 has morphed into here.

FFS George Wardlaw is the best generational talent North have seen since Carey.

Anyone who can't see that does not do football.

I was going to say I was disappointed with a couple of George’s kicks but I think I’ll shut up now

And combden disliked Wardlaws “helicopters” in a recent podcast

But who ****ing cares haha he is 19 years old and barely played any AFL footy

He’s a absolute gun

What a great performance. Finally strung a full game together. He's going to be a great great player.
Seriously, he is going to terrify some teams later on
He will make Freddy Kruger look like a kindly grandmother by how bad he will f over some teams
