I have been reluctant to post much about Mansell for the reason that I am more than somewhat biased given that I am also Palawa. Even more, I am probably distantly related to him as we (probably) share an ancestor, a man by the name of Mannalargenna. Mannalargenna was the leader of the Ben Lomond people in north-east Tasmania and was a famous resistance fighter before being exiled with Truganini. One of his best achievements was a raid on the homestead of the syphilitic mass-murderer John Batman in 1829 when he freed some women and children Batman had been holding prisoner (the colonial governor was offering a bounty per head at the time).

So what this means is that Mansell is descended from Batman's nemesis.

Also, lobby the lazy Tas Government to rename the Batman Bridge. I want Boonie Bridge. Palawa Bridge has a nice ring to it.

The bridge needs some sprucing up. The new Palawa / Boonie Bridge could have some murals to each at either end.

Reintroduce floggings for anyone who dare deface the art.

Believe it or not, I'm also distantly related to Boonie (but not Richo alas).

Could see his confidence lifting as the season went on. Genuine pace and finishing skill. Gets goals in many different ways.

Backing him for 30 goals next season if he plays 22 games.
