As others have said just needs to build his tank which will come in time

I can’t remember a gun midfielder we’ve had who actively draws in opposition contact like he does, Merrett and Parish must love the defensive pressure he takes away from them

Yeah he definitely doesn't shy away from contact. I think you're spot on too - just needs to continue increasing his tank as he gets more preseasons under his belt.
That said he's a guy that I constantly see busting a gut to chase blokes down even though he's not the quickest out there.
 
the power of his legs and hips, and the fact his legs are very short, enables him to have such power in those first three or four steps in congestion. it really gives me petracca/bontempelli vibes.

Been good since he started. We have been crying out for balanced mids and he has it all - hard at it, reads the play, clean hands, kicks goals, tackles and has a neat baulk. A good example (like the skipper) for the rest on what is required. Probably like Selwood when he joined Geelong will drag guys with him.
