" We are copping one of the competitions best young stars "

" an under 22 midfielder in the top three or four in his age group "

" Best player we've traded in since Judd. That is all. "

Have a bex and a lie down mate.

By your own criteria Cerra would go down as the best guy we’ve brought in in 15 years, and we aren’t getting him half way through a career either.

Fair enough if you don’t rate him, but there’s a hell of a lot who do, and some very angry and disappointed Freo supporters following his trade request.

Actually can’t believe some of the stuff I’m reading lol. Cerra an “just an upgrade” on Newnes? Next I’ll hear James Rowe is pretty much Tom Papley

I’d say the past can’t be used as an indicator of the future.

We could look back in 5yrs time and pick 6 could be phenomenal. On the other hand, it could be an absolute bust. We just don’t know.

At least the quantity is known here and we’re going to (injuries pending) get a slick 25 possie midfielder for the next 10 years.

Thats definitely fair enough.

But people want to weigh up their decision and so will naturally give more weight to what they conclude.

How good is Cerra in the highlights package ? He's fine. He absolutely is nothing "special" - but when you weigh up what "role" he is playing it is really tarnished. Its a very easy role to play as an outside receiver - so that takes a lot of the varnish off.

In my view - he is absolutely not worth a pick 6. Just isn't there - you say you are prepared to mitigate the potential loss of a bust by going to the draft.

So the play comes down that. I reckon it would be great to get him - but think we should work the room with SPS and other ideas to limit our expenditure.

If he comes and its pick 6 i'm not going to sh*t t bed - thats fine. Just think its overs - again.

Highlights package? Explains everything

Same with Saad, Setterfield, McGovern, Williams, etc, etc.

We have trade spectacularly badly - paying overs, or ludicrous salaries - no one likes losing young kids who are showing promise.

You should have a bex and a lie down with your calls.

O
Show me some footage of Cerra which rates him so highly - heres some of Cuninghams from last couple of season which obliterates Cerras soft outside receives, dinky SPS kicks (GREAT JUST WHAT WE NEED) and slow running.

And on Brodie - are you kidding - the guy has played 2 games and shown more - seriously take a look at Cerra's highlights - couldn't find a more vanilla package if you gave me a melted eskimo pie

Was playing like this in the reserves all year as well.

OMG. I love DC. Can’t wait to get him back.

Saad just finished second in our B&F

2nd rounder get's it done. If we get bent over, I will be sending an extremely terse letter to the Club.

if Freo hold their ground, we walk him to the PSD and focus our effots on The Bont with the top 5 pick we get for SPS.
I appreciate this more then you know :)

Pick 6, maybe 6 and a future 3rd for cerra + future 4th just please don't throw in 25 or a future 2nd into the mix

Handy player but I don't think he covers the weakness in our midfield, i'll just have to pray dow continues to step up.

Suggest we all wait for the final trade before being overly concerned

Then assess the trade period as a whole, after adding Hewett for zero capital

Trades arent won and lost on paper, nor in comparison of what player we could have drafted if we retained the pick

It's about the balance of list needs and Cerra makes us dramatically better

If SOS was still there i'd be relaxed, Austin has me worried after last year because we started miles apart and he ended up yielding to what Essendon had pushed through the media.

Competition for spots is healthy and if we don't have a pick before 61 that isn't coming from the new kids coming through the draft. I still think our midfield is desperate for someone with burst speed/strength which isn't cerra or anyone on our list save for maybe dow if we can finally build his body up after 4-5 years.

We currently have the 13th youngest list, so there will be plenty of competition for spots when adding the likes of Cerra and Hewett

While I also want more speed, I will take footskills over a quick ball hacker

We do have speed/zip that can rotate through the middle and when you look at someone like Port or the Dogs, their starting mids arent blessed with speed
