I think the opposite to this.

If you need to shout it out, then it’s probably a forced narrative.

You really think anyone doesn’t know we are an SA club? Jeez, we are called “Adelaide”!!

And the choice of words, “Made from South Australia” is very weird. Even symbolically that’s a strange choice.

In reality, we are made only partly from South Australia - when they are ready to come home for a pay cheque!!

Anyway, of course none of this matters … let’s get back to talking about the really important things that actually directly influence the club, you know, like the American Election result

We understand the concept but it’s a little off putting given how many lads aren’t from south Australia.
It’s a bit of an odd route to go down these days imo.
It's very much about connecting with fans. The club is South Australian and the majority of our supporter base is here. It's a brand statement to combat little brother down the road.

I saw the logo last week (the actual one not the leak). My first reaction was hmmm... but it has grown on me. I think most people will come around to liking it.
As yourself and a handful of other Crows podcasters are getting special treatment from the club, I hope you are using that to be honest with them and raise concerns the fans have. And I don’t mean “DrOp MuRpHy” or just go off and abuse everyone as soon as you step foot in the door.

But you are in a hugely privileged position where you can have a voice and be heard in a club that has notoriously ignored fans for decades.

Slander!

It is ok for anonymous people on a website to give their opinions you know.

Anyway, I am no design expert, BUT:

1. Who cares about the image of a crow bird? I don’t. I have very little attachment to any of the crow imagery ever attached to the club. Maybe the cartoon crow on the original crest as a sentimental retro thing but don’t want us to go back there.

2. We all care about ADELAIDE football club. Even SA country ppl after years of following Adelaide have warm feelings about “Adelaide”. Almost all Collingwood supporters have never lived in or even near Collingwood but they love “Collingwood”.

3. Our home guernsey is great, the colours are good.

So: they should emphasise “Adelaide” and the colours, and de-emphasise the bird.

That might be hard because a long word like Adelaide is hard to fit into a square logo shaped spot. But that’s what good graphic designers are for.

Also - kids love cartoons, so kids need to have cartoon-bird logo and merch as well, but the main logo should be focussed on ‘Adelaide’, not the bird.
They heard 2 of my 3 requests

Is the coloured wing the wing that's closest to the viewer?

Or is that the wing on the far side?

Or are the blue wings/feathers at the bottom meant to be the wing closest to the viewer? Or is that "tail plumage" or something?

I gotta say, when you are on the AFL website on a laptop or app on a phone and you are on the match result screen, scrolling through, it looks good. Seeing it in that context against the other logos helps.

Also without the yellow outline, which is probably going to be the most common way we will see it as well, looks good.

Seeing it very small is probably the first time I've seen it look reasonable

The small version hides a lot of the weird linework, angles and other design choices

I am warming to it. When you get the colours right it goes a long way.

I get where you're coming from, although "special treatment" is a bit of a stretch. But yes, we do have an avenue to voice concerns that's not available to the normal fan.

My cast has always been a bit of a black sheep... we went hard at them during the camp even before the mainstream got into them. And we also generated a ton of fan noise that contributed to them doing the review. So yeah, we do get into them quite regularly.

Also, we deal mostly with the media department, sooo...

Overreacting?
Surely people have a right to be annoyed that we’ve gone with something pretty average and people in an hour have improved it 10 fold?
You've got to admit there's been some pretty OTT responses to it on here. It's one thing not to like it, but to suggest we're 'laughing stock of the competition' - FMD. (That wasn't you Froggy, I know)
