Autopsy Adelaide wins the prelim [WARNING: ZERO TOLERANCE TO TROLLING]

You're entitled to your opinion.

Kolo has more potential than both Stewart and Bews and Zuthrie, Parsons and definitely Simpson.

Buzza is one of the few that have more potential than Kolo IMO.

Cockatoo, Parfitt, Buzza and Kolo have the most potential of any of our prospects and in that order IMO.
I agree with that, but funny enough that also almost reflects the order that they were taken in the draft. If you get a few good foot soliders out of your rookies, you're doing ok.

Its simple. The club needs to give a number of players and staff the hard truth. 3 flags for the 2005 to 2017 flag is unacceptable given the hawks have 4 with much inferior form and opportunities over that time.

Its time for the club to stand up and defend itself. Starts at the top, Cook was blasting Geelong supporters for not turning up to the Swans game because the AFL was worried about numbers. He was silent on the airlines ripping off Geelong supporters going to Adelaide, to the AFL not fixturing a Geelong home game during the finals (unlike the 3 other prelim opponents). Our home ground is in Geelong, and we should have 11 games there. If we are forced to play 4 games at the G or Etihad, then so too should the crows and port.

Its about time this seriously compromised competition is put on notice.

As for the bullshit booing and staring during the national anthem. What a joke. Like Dermie said today Pyke would not do that to Scott's face, but from 50m away he has the balls to do it.

Our attitude at the MRP needs to change, we are soft and we get done like no-one else. Dusty and Cotchin were involved in incidents which our players were suspended and they got off scott free.

Let alone our attitude to trading. Need to get tough. Trading our Varcoe for a player with massive issues to help Melbourne save face is a joke. He should have been a pick in the 70s. We are seeing it again with the ablett situation. Offer up pick 70 and move on.

Time for Geelong to get some mongrel, and fight hard.

Otherwise we will look back and regret the waste that was this decade.

I didn't even click!

I'm not sure how pick 41, 43 and 69 are expected to be better than they are already.

Marchbank was pick 6 and is a beast prospect who got lost in the shuffle of GWS' list and injuries.

Kolo has the same physical profile and plays a similar game and while he may lack the upside of Marchbank (remains to be seen) the fact we have a similar prospect who was taken 37 picks later is a win no matter how you look at it.

We need to footsoldiers and we need them to get games NOW.

Blaming the kids is pathetic IMO.

Looking back on the game, this was a massive lost opportunity.
Everything rolled the crows way. Everytime the ball could have rolled their way it did. Deflections fell perfectly their way. Cameron has been a dog all year decides to turn it on. People say we were outcoached, but you need to look at simple errors by experienced players that cost us dearly. Too many turnovers by our defenders. Tuohy and Henderson had their worst games for a while.
There were too many 12 point plays. The one that infuriates me is the handball from a mark which immediately gets smothered and we get burnt. Happens too often.
We need to settle on a forward line, all year taylor is there to help Hawkins but last night we simply didnt try a thing. Our midfield lacks consistency, and thats where the coaches need to smashed on the head. You need to keep danger and selwood out of their during the year so other can step up. This team needs mongrel. The crows were in our faces and we didnt have anyone to hurt them.
As for the Texan, biggest showboat of all time. Junk time goals and prances around.

As for the AFL and rules. No mention on the coverage nor in the press today of the hit by Sloane on Danger. If Danger deserves a week for the hit on Kruezer then Sloane deserves 2 as his action was worse. He didnt try to tackle as his forearm was to the head of Danger. The dropping the ball rule is gone again. How can a game be taken seriously when no one knows the rules. A game that has home an away rules and then finals rules is a joke. (Lets not forget SJ was suspended for less in a final, let alone Chapman).

As for the media who claim geelong are advantaged because they get 7 home games WAKE UP. westcoast get their quota of home games, so too Freemantle, so too every other club.

As for me, I hope GWS win the flag, killing the arrogance and bullshit of the crows and tigers. It would be great for SJ to get one more medal.
What a complete load of shit! Your reputation out does you Forrest.

Where did you find this crap?

I am confused by this sentence:
"Let alone our attitude to trading. Need to get tough. Trading our Varcoe for a player with massive issues to help Melbourne save face is a joke". Who and what are you talking about?

Go Cats!!!!!

I think he's talking about Geelong losing out on the Clark trade, but realistically Melbourne lost out too with Lumumba retiring also. Pies came out on top there.

"Blaming" is an interesting term. I do think that we lost because we have too many inexperienced players on board who couldn't cop the heat in close, but also I wouldn't expect them to be able to cop it, either.
When we lost to Richmond, Parsons copped it.

Lose to Adelaide and Kolo cops it.

Domsy was probably worst on but crickets...

12,13 we had a better team for a flag chance.
Last few years the team has not gone to the next level something is a miss somewhere.
Bartel, Enright, SJ, Kelly, Stokes, Caddy, Christensen, Rivers - a fair few losses to try and cover in the last few years.

Could be worse could be Sydney. They have 2 flags from 5 since 2005

I agree with a fair bit of your post- in particular the fact that we have for too long been Mr. Nice Guy to the AFL. We let them rag doll us. Obviously this was because certain figures at the top of our club were courting the AFL for employment positions at HQ, and a certain Mr Hocking now has earned his post there.

The AFL is not really a very good sporting institution anymore. It spends a lot of time social engineering the fans with its virtue signalling and nonsensical "inclusiveness", trying to offer every identity group a safe space and a teddy bear. This entire approach is represented best in the way it is constantly manipulating the game to a) sanitize it, b) make everything lean towards equality of outcome as opposed to equality of opportunity and c) control the opinions of players and staff to publicly tow the party line regardless of what they really think.

In other words, the AFL has swallowed the whole leftist political agenda. It's supposed to run a sport, not be the thought police.

Point b) is what has killed the Geelong Football Club this year. Our players are made "examples" by the tribunal, and I believe that sends a message to the players- subconsciously if not directly- to bring out the handbags and play nice or get suspended. Meanwhile, clubs that have awful internal cultures and records like Richmond constantly get let off IOW- the AFL want to level the playing field to help out those who can't get their s**t together. The Greens of the sporting world. No other major sporting body steals home games from teams that have earned them, just to sell tickets. Gather money, blow it on social statements. Asshats.

MAYBE now that key jobs at the AFL are all taken up those weaklings leading the club will grow a set and stand up for the club, the players and the fans. Don't hold your breath.

Well said.

Dunno how many times I can say this. Can we stop whinging about the Kardinia Park thing and home finals
We have never asked to play all 11 games at KP ever.
If we ever do then we can have a whinge.

That's the point- we don't ask for home games because we're weak.

I agree. Sloane explained that he initially ran towards Dangefield with "a lot of speed" and had planned to tackle him, before trying to intercept his handball. So he hit his head with his shoulder and had the opportunity to tackle. That is 1 to 2 weeks. Hiw can he not get cited!!! The AFL is at work in the background re this
