Boy oh boy how lippy have Port gotten. They've gotten cocky - just like their cross town rivals did. All the experts have tipped them, its all on them.

Kane Cornes and Hamish Hartlett my favourites.

There is a GOOD chance Richmond could finish the job - ruin South Australian football for another 10 years. Good chance it happens tonight.

Richmond have been VERY quiet. Barely hearing a sound, id be very worried Port fans.

If I was Port, I'd be grateful - theyve won nothing yet 🥱

I'm totally at peace with the result. We've had our time in the sun, anything from here is just golden.

Port have been the most impressive team all year, they're at home, they have the home crowd advantages which sways the umpires into questionable calls. I'd actually give us a better chance right now of beating a Geelong or Brisbane in a potential grand final than this game.

If we pull this off it would be a very good effort. Just hoping for a good game.
Cheers, oppo supporters like you give me hope. Too many trolls around

Thats it - I can't work anymore this arvo - I keep coming back to this thread! Probably goes without saying but this is a massive game for the Tigers - bigger than what it seems, more than other prelims - there's so much at stake .

The reason being is that its hard to see exactly where the Tigers sit at the moment and I think this game could define us - its a fork in the road for the Tiges. Lose and I feel our potential dynasty is coming to a close and a lot of our older players may be (gently) moved on and we will start transitioning to our next generation. Win and I believe another premiership awaits and it will prove our older guys still have what it takes - with 2021 being another opportunity.

Not sure how this helps either team really, the Tigers game plan would seem to be better suited however the Lynch / Riewoldt threat is reduced and the PA defensive unit would thrive on it. Would two talls in Lycett and Ladhams now be a weakness? I like the PA forward structure of Rozee / Butters / Gray / Motlop in the wet, and inside mids of Rockliff / Boak / Wines / Powell-Pepper are built on clearances and meters gained and less of disposal efficiency.

Just start already......!

Yes and no, i feel weve probably over achieved this season, our time is in the very near future so if we fall short tonight or next week there is still plenty of upside.
Our greatest challenge moving forward will be retaining our up and comers ahead of the usual Vic raids.

Wet/windy will probably help the more contested side - Port. Richmond have the advantage of a tall forward line against a small defense - as mentioned wet/windy reduces this advantage. One thing the conditions will do is make it low scoring and probably very tight until the end.

Don’t think that week off helps in the modern game, and with the bye after the minor round it might actually be a disadvantage this year. Not much footy of late for the two home teams.

Tiges and Cats to spoil the fairytale(s).

Helped us, in that Marshall and Duursma might have missed without a week off....

It's back to the old Top 5, where the minor premier would have a week off, play a Qualifying Final and if won, another week off before the Grand Final.

Ken Hinkley - Yeah they're a good side, its a prelim, everyone are good sides.
Hardwick - if you wanna stand in Lynch's way, good luck.

Meanwhile your supporters are on our gameday thread treating it as if it is their own.

The victim mentality is out of this world.

I am still pissed off my mob surrendered without a shot. The upside is that I can really enjoy the footy now with no skin in the game.

I can't see how RFC can get past the intensity of Power. What I have seen of them in this area this year has been marvelous. If they bring it I think they win it.

It is not dissimilar to RFC 2017 when they brought intensity big time and noone could go with them for 4 quarters come finals. Noone. It was something to see a team crush all teams in finals so comprehensively via pressure and intensity.

RFC since then have developed more dimensions, perhaps to the detriment of ferocity, which is why they have made a point of "playing on the edge", to bring back the total team intensity of 2017.

They of course can win this game, but it will either be through a beatifully efficient and skillful performance or some reversion to 2017 style.

Finals footy though is won through pressure, it usually trumps skills, and so I'm picking Port to win.

If Tiges can pull it off, it will be a win for the ages away against vocal oppo fans. It may also make it tough to repeat the performance the next week.

The caveat as always is, I'm wrong about half the time.

Both coaches were misquoted and spoke well,
Its your players who are embarrassing themselves
