Was a headclash really

It doesn't matter when you elect to bump, any more than it matters if you elect to headbutt someone. Accidental head contact in a contest is a different story. In this case, Danger elected to bump, hit the guy in the head, and knocked him out cold.

Rough Conduct: Careless, high contact, high impact is two weeks.

Williams hit got graded as 'medium' (and his opponent got up straight away and played out the match) so this has to be at least 'high' impact. If it's severe impact its 3 weeks (and possibly straight to the tribunal)

While you could call it a footy incident, it was totally unnecessary, the ball was gone and he chose to follow through. It’s totally intentional, he went the bump to try and hurt Kelly after he had got rid of the ball. That by definition is a sniper.

There was no need to bump at all and that alone should result in a suspension.

Yeah nah, thats BS. It looks later in slow motion. Kelly got rid of the ball because Dangerfield was in already coming at him - watch the ball in his hand, looks like Kelly was about to kick then changed to handball when Danger was right on him. Watch it again at full speed. https://www.afl.com.au/news/565323/watch-dangerfield-in-hot-water-after-massive-bump-ko-s-crow

Traditionally, like when Frawley was playing? My opinion on the bump has changed, especially since then. I just don't think it has a place in the game anymore. There is enough unavoidable concussions in the game, getting rid of the avoidable ones is only a good thing.

Good point. CTE and its devastating effects certainly justify a rethink in what's okay and what isn't. If that means nixing a traditional facet of the game, so be it.
