Some more than others though. If today's game follows the first half's trajectory and Hawthorn lose by 60+, I'd suggest that the third year coach of the Hawks would be on the hot seat, if it was a contemporary, whose playing career had been at another club.

Because he's a Hawthorn champion, I suspect that he has an extra 12 months' grace than if, I don't know, Spike McVeigh or Lenny Hayes had achieved the identical results over three years as Hawthorn coach. I just think people are automatically welded to this thinking that Sam Mitchell is the right man for the job from what seems like (at least to me) very little evidence and absolutely minimal pressure for results.
The last hard rebuild we did with Clarko , who was a non-Hawthorn person at the time ,was in line with this .
So Im happy to disagree with Sam getting more grace as a Hawthorn Champion from our club . We dont operate that way .
He is a very good media performer so he may get some leeway there from media.

Like then the club made a decision on our direction which Im happy to back in as the right call .
With that comes pain along the way as the team and coach grow together.
I guess unless you watch us every week , you probably dont see the little sparks that may be there.

Good luck next week you will need it 🙂

Yes, but we have been hearing on here about these green shoots and little sparks for a fair while now......

Weddle and Mackenzie very good today.

Thought the Wiz had another good game minus conversion.

Green shoots every game. Just need these guys to develop consistency which comes with experience.

Our midfield is a bit concerning. I'm worried about Newcombe. Looks like he's either carrying something or isn't fully fit. Looked slick in the preseason matches but now looks like he's missing a gear, not getting any power through his legs to smash through tackles.

Worpel, Newcombe and Nash are too agricultural to compete against the best. Need the class and speed of Day to bring some balance back.
