So from our last meeting.Basically
In Taylor out Aleer
Cadman -Gruwzeski
Jones-Angwin
Coniglio -Bedford
Perryman -Thomas
Keefe -Riccardi
Cummings-Ohalloran

Swans
Parker -Adams
Roberts -Wicks

Both teams stronger. While a tagging Bedford is a big loss we are still considerably stronger side I think. We have obviously prioritized 2nd ruck with Keefe and
even though he is 204 cm we sure as s...haven't picked Lockie for his forward making prowess..Cogs and our mids need to stand up.If they do game on.

Mills in for Cleary from the previous game as well

Swans have been hot favourites for all four finals against the Giants.

memories.... a rampant young Jeremy Cameron tearing them up in 2016 out at Homebush, the 'dancing on the seats' final at the SCG, Buddy Franklin's miss in Launceston leading to a 1-point victor by the Giants...

Giants to upset the swans for a 4th time in a row.

GWS have played Sydney in 3 finals, as the away team each time, and won, in the last 8 years.
Meanwhile West Coast and Fremantle and Adelaide and Port Adelaide have had a combined 120+ seasons and have met in a showdown/derby final 1 time.
And some people say stats don't matter...

I think any local derby GF would be an insane event and would be a huge breakthrough in the true nationalisation of the game.
Dozens of local derby GFs throughout the VFL/ AFL era.
Giants stadium is further away from the SCG than most Melbourne clubs traditional home grounds were/ are from each other.

Who gets tagged today? Whitfield has copped Jordan in both games this year but didn't do a great job last time. No Bedford who went to Warner in the last game.

Why is this the Saturday afternoon game?.Surely the team that finishes 1st would want the longest rest going into the second week of finals. Also probably the best game so put it on in a timeslot which will get the most eyeballs.Melburnians will watch AFL no matter what time it's on but in a growing market in Sydney a night game is a no brainer.25 degrees and sunny in Sydney who is watching TV? AFl once again totally missed an opportunity to grow the game and has showed its bit of a mickey mouse competition
It was a very insular, short cited decision. They could have had wall to wall media coverage in Sydney if they gave it the prime time slot and talked it up.

They may have only got 90k to the G for Bulldogs Hawthorn, but this is not a big sacrifice, and I also think the overall tv viewership will be lower (Melbournians would still watch Swans GWS on a Friday night)
