Who are Lonergan, Taylor and Gillies going to play on? Gillies is a weird selection for mine as there just isn't a match up, unless he is earmarked for Dangerfield when he is forward

I/C: Shannon Byrnes, David Wojcinski, Tom Hawkins, Travis Varcoe, Dawson Simpson, Steven Motlop, Mitch Duncan

Highlighted would be the bench + late in for Jimmy for me.

The inclusion of Gillies makes our backline looks excessively tall for mine...I thought Cam Guthrie was a guarantee this week with both Hunt and Milburn going out with suspension and injury respectively. Indeed, the whole side looks like it could be a bit top heavy, with the absense of Vardy compensated for by either Simpson or Hawkins as second ruck. Interesting.

Hopefully Jimmy and Kel aren't late withdrawals, we really need the experience and class of at least one of them running through the centre.

Congrats to Mitch for getting a game though I would have liked it if Vardy were in the team as well to allow Mitch to be the third tall as it stands if he lines up at FF Rutten will be his match up and IMO will monster him in one on ones
eeew...don't even go there !! Hope he's played as a roaming Flanker , expect either Tom to come in as CHF /Ruck or dawson to come in as Ruck with Otto at FF and Pods at CHF. Could be more changes as I suspect Bartel and Duncan to miss with Kelly also a chance.....geez that's a line-up change and a half !!

As i mentioned earlier, i wouldn't be shocked if Harry went forward.
Not only would it allow Tom Gillies a chance as a genuine key defender but it'd also allow Mitch Brown to play as a third tall option.

It's the only theory i can come up with given Adelaide have actually gone in quite small, even though they've added another ruckman.

I think they are taking the piss. That is the weirdest line up I have seen named for a while. Joel Corey in the forward pocket, yeah pull the other one.

Jimmy is most likely a late withdrawal. But good to see Byrnes, Motlop, Gillies, Brown, Christensen, Simpson & Hawkins get named.

Obviously all those talls can't play. One tall will be named as a sub I think. It depends on how they are going to manage the rucking duties. Maybe they will be looking to sub Ottens off or bring in a back up rucking option later in the game so Ottens can play forward and get a rest there.

Interesting to see how the chips fall.

yeah gillies in a strange pick.also what has motlop and hawkins done in the 2's in the last few weeks to be picked.monty form as been soild, brown has been good.and dawson starting to show more.will an interesting game but existing with so many new faces in the team.

Very odd lineup indeed! I'm thinking I might get a run in the midfield at this rate. Anyone thinking of putting a few $ on Adelaide to win under 39 or lose under 39? I'm a little tempted.

I too doubt Jimmeh will line up and I hope the club sees it that way.

The Crows line-up looks reasonable. If we're a bit off the pace - given all our 'outs' - an upset isn't out of the question.

Who else are you going to name in front of Hawkins and Motlop? The only other one I can think of at this stage is Cowan... Not many left after that.

l would play simpkin ahead of motlop but he's still on the rookie list ?(l think)
yeah cowan and guthie a head of motlop as well.form warrants section motlop/hawkins witch dont have.nothing against them from a personal point of view.pity the timing of these injury's l would also like to see horlin-smith and weston get a game.

I'm sure many will disagree with this, but I don't see why Dawson Simpson has been named. What possible incentive do we have to play him, with Ottens having already rested quite recently, and Hawkins fit and available? We've already made a totally unnecessary change in bringing in Gillies...to have two totally superfluous players would be shooting ourselves in both feet.

Does listing Gillies as part of the starting 18 mean he's a certainty to play?

I'd much rather our changes be something along the lines of:

Out: Hunt, Stokes, Milburn, Vardy

In: Brown, Christensen, Hawkins, Byrnes

Motlop, Simpson, and Gillies as emergencies, with Wojo dropping back in to defence to compensate for the loss of Hunt and Milburn.

If he suits up, he's right to go. I have every confidence that the medical staff will not jeopardise Bartel's future for a practically meaningless late June H&A game.

Agreed. Has until Sunday morning to come up so would be a reasonable chance. The whole brain scan thing was purely precautionary and only because it was his 2nd knock for the year rather than him showing symptoms for anything.

Disappointed Vardy is out as I have loved watching him. Really hope he is legit injured as I don't see how a rest would help his progress right now. Dawson did look pretty good last week though.

Some other weird positions but will wait and see how it is 5pm tomorrow when we settle our interchange.

A chance to play where he should be playing right now maybe?

You'd think the Cheer Squad would know if Shagga's a lock to play so they can get the banner done in time?

Good Point!
Does anyone on here lack teeth, have a wide girth, and had education at Corio Tech?
Please let us know about shagga !
