Look at the knees and back. Everything is bent and crouching. Umpires are told to not give frees for ducking or dropping of body weight which contributes to a high kick. You only think it should be a free and suspension because it was a brutal tackle. If he had stayed upright, McStay probably would have hit him in the back which would probably have been a free kick then.

There was no crouching with the flying elbow to the head....but you’ve left that out of your response for a reason.

Didn’t realise that a slight movement like the one Doedee does means it’s ok to whack him in the head. Not even a free kick appparently. To think I’ve been watching games of football for 40 years and never knew this before.

No. Your post that l quoted was directly referring to McStay. There were 3 giant images on it. If you want my opionion on the Cutler one, then l agree. Poor and will likely get several weeks.

Cmon man, you have to realise that because he dropped his body weight and ergo his height means that he tackles the head instead of the body. If he had stood tall, he would have got the shoulders. If you can't even see your player lowering his height even with video evidence then there is no point continuing with you.

It should have been a free for High, but It was accidental contact that lead to a concussion he might get a fine, but we can't just suspend everyone who touches a player who gets knocked out, its bloody Footy head knocks happen all the time some players get knocked out some don't.

I hate this penalize the player on the outcome of the event oand not on the intent.

Name me one time when a player has made head high contact concussing a player but it’s deemed that the player ‘dropped his body weight’ so therefore it wasn’t a free kick and or a report. I’ll wait.

But that's the way it rolls. The outcome is what matters under the rules; no concussion equals reduced severity. The rules have been changed to punish head-high contact. It's graded by intent and severity, but the AFL has made it clear that head injuries will attract a penalty even if it's just carelessness.

He's getting more than a fine.

He did get lower but I dispute the inferences made on the board that it was an attempt to milk a free. He's bracing for the unavoidable impact. It's a moot point, but I think that had the collision occurred without him bracing, then it's likely the tackle would have gone high anyway simply because of the angle. The tackler has the momentum and would have been deflected up off of his shoulder.

Look at how bent over McStay is to tackle a guy who’s a similar height. Not sure Doedee could’ve ducked down any further in the small amount of time he had. Maybe he was trying to get under the tackle.

And I was referring to the head high hits and concussions that your dog players inflicted on ours.

Dog players haha. Get a grip you clown. Doedee dropped at the knees causing the high contact. Cutler elbow was messy but he didn't go into the contest looking to hurt - more a case of bad timing and high contact.

All these Crow supporters carrying on about dog acts seem to forget what happened last week with Tex Walker.

Seriously your team played in the Grand Final last year and we won the wooden spoon. You beat us by 5 points. I wouldn't be going the high and mighty.

You might try using logic instead of the following the script one day.

No, they didn't. There will be two Brisbane players heading to the tribunal following incidents where no free kicks were given. It was diabolical umpiring with howlers going both ways, but overlooking those two incidents in particular is pretty average.

Whoever hit Laird high in the last quarter probably has a case to answer too in my opinion.

 Whataboutism always wins every argument.

I think its a pretty good point to make in a thread full of Crow fans crowing about A) Beating us barely by 5 points and our own inaccuracy and B) whinging about our players being dogs when their Captain is the biggest known dog of the AFL.

But hey, good luck not failing in a Grand Final again eh?

Do I think Doedee ducked his head to win a free kick? No .
Was he trying to brace for impact but accidentally put himself in harm's way? Yes.

Some of the insane hyperbole around here (from Port Adelaide supporters interestingly enough) is ridiculous.

Should have been a free kick as the tackle was dangerous, however I hope McStay isn't suspended as there was factors in the tackle that he simply couldn't control.

Well cows you won and dropped a place on the ladder , fair result !

Toughen up princesses , stop ducking and you won't get hit high. You got the win move on.

Dropping into tackles to try and win frees is annoying. I'm sure other teams fans hate when Mathieson does it and would understand if no sympathy was shown for him if he copped one high due to it.

If Doedee doesn't drop into the tackle he doesn't get hurt. Or maybe he was scared or getting a hard tackle. I don't know but tackling should not be outlawed

your video shows exactly what happenned when he first sees Mcstay there heads are at the same height then he drops his knees ,thanks for showing the footage that clears this up.

For those who want McStay banned I would love to know what you wanted him to do in the situation?

Run in slower?
Go for the legs?
Not use his arms to tackle?
