yep but he needs to be 100% locked in and committed. I have memories of Bighty's ill-fated coaching comeback at St Kilda.
Clarko's on the record as wanting to coach again, Blight was far more ambivalent. St Kilda almost literally had to drag him off the golf course to get him to coach. They even went as far as agreeing to let him spend a couple of days a week on the Gold Coast during the season. His heart was never in it.

CLARKSON ‘CAN’T BE THE MESSIAH’

JON RALPH
DUAL premiership North Melbourne ruckman Corey McKernan says Alastair Clarkson is a perfect fit on every level for the Roos, as their chase for the premiership legend hots up.
But McKernan warned that the four-time premiership coach could not bring a messiah complex and would need an elite team around him. “To have someone who has got footy experience like Clarkson ticks all the boxes,” he said.
“He would be good for membership and sponsors, great to get players to your club and stay at your club.
“You just need to make sure you have enough support around him. He can’t be the single-handed messiah who solves all our problems. You have to spread the load.”
The Herald Sun revealed on Saturday that Roos president Sonya Hood was expected to make contact with Clarkson’s manager James Henderson in Tasmania on Saturday.
The Roos on Sunday night refused to comment on the progress of those weekend discussions and are yet to reveal the formation of the coaching sub-committee.

Corza, good North man and in no related context, is a bit of a cooker.

One extremely important caveat though - he would have to agree to accept and endorse club policy to remain a Melbourne-based club and not promote external efforts to relocate the club to Tasmania.

He’s a coach. I don’t see how any of that is his problem?

He's not the messiah. He's a very naughty boy.

As for the weekend result...

- Six players reported: They were obviously out to show Clarko that they are willing to get their hands dirty.

- The loss: Ensuring that the PP and #1 picks are secured to give Clarko maximum draft hand. In his last season he was taking Hawthorn to the bottom until they kicked his can over - as soon as he knew it was over for him he lifted the team to a few wins. He knows how to work the system and he saw it in action on Saturday.

As I said... He's a very naughty boy.

Yes, he's a coach and he should have nothing to say on the matter. If he doesn't agree to that caveat, and he wants to tell everyone who will listen that North should relocate, then we can't have him undermining the club in that way.

Cooked brain - conspiracy theorist. Usually associated with anti-vaxx, Q-anon, UFOs, Moon landing, chemtrails, 5G, pedophile rings in government etc.

ok thanks. I'll use that one.

Clarko is a footy traditionalist and has seen first hand the passion Tasmanians have for Aussie rules through his time at Hawthorn. He will want them to have their own team, not a relocated one.
But it doesn’t have to be with him as coach so hopefully doesn’t impact his immediate decision.

Am I the only one that cannot see a Tasmanian team forming? Without giving them priority draft access, which majority of boards are in favour of a Tas team however do not want the same draft scenario as gc and gws. So if that part never happens it’ll be a bloody hard sell to have 36 players pack up and move there.

I can’t see any reason why the AFL would actually want a team in Tassie. Unless there’s a 20th team or St Kilda move there and Tassie just give up an accept it.

Gil won’t have the nuts to say no outright, he’ll leave the light barely flickering and let the next man deliver the bad news.

Yep, you’re the only one 🤣

Seriously though, you’re most likely not the only one that thinks that way & that’s fine. I hope it gets up & I’m 100% sure it will… but it certainly won’t be like the previous GC or GWS draft concessions… so I’m led to believe.

Time will tell 👍🏼

If the AFL want it, it will happen. If they don't, then it won't.

I think the AFL's, and most club's first preference, is a relocated team, but that might be too much of a poisoned chalice to handle right now while we are debt free and club's like the Saints, ooze debt everywhere (not that I want to see any Victorian based club relocated).

North being debt free at the present is such an unwelcome scenario for every other club. So they have to resort to saying we are "a shambles" on and off field, to push their evil agendas.

Relocate the Gold Coast I say.

More chance of a moon landing than Tassie getting its own side buddy.

You know the moon landing actually happened right.

You're not the only one.

Add in the stadium requirement and the current economic climate, to me it's very much a pipe dream.
