Anyone Making the Trip To Brissy?

Just letting you guys know that the Gabba roof is fully repaired now, so there's coverage where there hasn't been this season.

Thanks for making the effort to come up here, want a huge crowd and that wouldn't be possible without all of you.

EDIT: Section 55 have really good seats, enjoy the game.

Two thumbs up there.... :thumbsu: :thumbsu:

Got the accomodation booked now - now I can sit back and enjoy Carlton being in the finals again, and really soaking up the excitement!!

Can anyone in Gold Coast/Surfers advise how long it would realistically take to get to the Gabba on Saturday night?
.

Its 50 minutes to drive from the goldy but you will then spend 15 to 20 minutes looking for a carpark and then another 20 minutes to walk in to the ground.

Go early and find a pub close to the ground. :D.

Also I now have tickets in section 55 and big thanks to all the big footy people who offered to help me get tickets.

:)

Hey everyone, my first post! I live up here and was wondering if anyone has a spare barcode they don't plan on using? I have mine but it would be nice going with the missus. Also i usually sit in section 17 isn't that the usual members area?

I'm in section 55 row JJ. Are we organising an official meet up before or after the game?? I'd suggest the Pinapple hotel but it will be PACKED with people. I'm happy to have drinks at my place after .. but only if we win (otherwise I'm heading out on the town to drown my sorrows). ODN have you organised/are you organising a pre game meet up???

I will have my daughter so won't be doing the hotel thing. As for a meet up ... many will opt to give it a miss as the net gives them relative anonymity and freedom to express an opinion.

Pregame though, I am guessing some of us will be picking up tickets from the venue, especially as it is easier than getting to the city box office. Pretty sure we get our tickets from Gate 2 which is at the Eastern end of the ground and people meet up on the grassy area there all the time. Not sure how long I will be in that line in order to mingle but there can be a meet up around there somewhere.

I'll be travelling from the Sunshine Coast and its only around 50 minutes.

For anyone trying to get up for the game, flying out of Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast is an option with a 12.50pm flight on Sunday. (unfortunately with Tiger Airways, but just make sure you are on time...the one way flight was around $180).

Will be looking out for all those Blues supporters in Section 55 upper. I thought i had row DD but its BB... Even better:thumbsu: Sounds like there is an absolute heap of us.

Lets make some noise people!!

Fire up lads !!!!!!!!

There should be plenty of tickets left for Saturday night. Section 17 is the Carlton cheersquad area.

Allow extra time if travelling by public transport or by car as there's a rugby union match at Suncorp Stadium. For those coming from the Gold Coast, there's an A-League match at Skilled Park (but shouldn't be a problem).

Also, if you travel by public transport you get it for free (just show your ticket to the bus driver), information here: http://www.translink.com.au/event.php?id=71.

If anyone has any questions, feel free to leave them here and I'll try and answer them.

Exactly the info I was after, thanks.

Probably have to drag myself out of bed by midday, hang around doing bugger all until about 5pm, drive to Garden City, leave my car, grab a free bus which takes about 15 minutes, walk about 200 metres to the ground. Man that will be taxing but I will do it just to represent all of you.

Is Garden City the best place to park for games at the Gabba?

Does it get crazy an hour or so before the game?

Cheers.

I'm in Melb, but looking like doing long weekend in Surfers and popping up to Bris for the game Sat night.

I just go to Garden City because it is on the way, its a fairly major bus interchange on the Southside and heaps of people park there.

You can go closer, can risk getting a spot around private car parks around the venue or at Southbank, depending on what time you get there.

I wouldn't say traffic is crazy before the game as such but finding a car park definitely is. Afterwards however, it is chaos trying to get your car out of there and also lining up for buses.

Folks, doing a bit of broking for our exulted BF leader who is in need of anywhere from 2-7 barcode numbers for the game.

Give so that he may cheer.

I suggest PMing Chief the barcode numbers directly if you can help out.

Cheers

Already used and I am proud to announce that as of 9.42am yesterday I became the proud parent of two bouncing baby finals tickets. Much appreciated. :thumbsu:

I had been trying to get through on the phone since Monday without success. I thought i would try again this morning and see what is still available, to my astonishment section 15 Row A 2 seats are all mine. I'm so happy i will be there!

Sounds like the game isn't selling out as quickly as it should. What the heck is with these Brisbane supporters?

Saffas playing the Wallabies at Suncorp.

If anyone is flying into Coolangatta (Gold Coast Airport) and needs a lift up to the game PM me, I have to play on Saturday (in Coolangatta) but will be leaving straight after my game. Can drop off at the Gabba (or nearby) should arrive at the ground around 6ish.

Got tickets tnite - section 13 which isn't too far from our cheer squad so im pretty happy! Any Gabba regulars tell me if s13 is a good viewing spot?
Go Blues!
