nah he's right. lynch gonna get 3-4 weeks. media decides suspensions these days
Whateley with his concerned "state of the game" face this week, can't wait sigh.
Lynch will get 4 weeks for it because the Media is calling for blood on the bumps and because this one has caused a concussion the AFL will be able to make a major statement and take him out for 4 weeks.
Neutrals want him cleared but the Tiger haters in the media throwing the book at him.

every game on the weekend is in adelaide

some festival of footy shite
apparently its all about the common man and family, the grass roots battlers who can f off for a weekend to delayed, pay for accomm, games, food, flights etc at the drop of a hat, get time off work with a snap of the fugn fingers...

another nail in the coffin of aussie rules, and another jewel in the crown of king gilbozo the fugn clown's afl cringefest reign.

If Lynch gets suspended because he got pushed into some bloke that wasn't looking where he was running then we gotta show Danger's hit on Vlastuin and say that was more intentional in a GF and that got **** all weeks.
Never forget Hawkins pushing Soldo into Balta causing him to do his ACL in 2020. Soldo would have been a 2 time premiership player if not for that. Is it any wonder I hate Geelol as much as the Scum, Filth and Druggos !!

MOre thought needs to go into the CBD ruck , ffs nank wins ruck with 50% more hit outs and we get slaughtered in the Clearance , now I know dimma reads this column as we started going inboard more yesterday ,,,,when the oppo are dining out on our ruck ,,,S T O P what we’re doing and throw marlion Pickett into the ruck

Free kick differential means jack all when trying to paint the picture as well. If footy tables was easier to scrub data from I would love to go back since 17 and do the big analysis that I want to. The real stat that is the interesting one is comparing the oppositions free kick against stat when they play us vs their average free kicks against stat. When I did it in 21, it showed that on average when a team played us, they would give away significantly less free kicks on average when they played us. It was consistently more than 1 standard deviation from the mean.

The reason you only want to look at the free kicks against stat for the opposition is that it takes away the argument of "Richmond play rough" bullshit and the very good argument that free kick counts don't need to be even.

Statistically, only two teams in AFL football have received more frees than they have given away - Western Bulldogs and the former Fitzroy.

As for for versus against, Richmond is about average and on par with Carlton, Melbourne and Essendon around 93/94%.

Adelaide (the worst), Brisbane Lions, Hawthorn, Port Adelaide, Fremantle, Gold Coast all worse.

All-time free kicks - 1965-2023
Adelaide 6782 (for) - 6139 (against) (87.48%)
Brisbane Bears 2568-2694 (95.32%)
Brisbane Lions 5036-5485 (91.81%)
Carlton 16064-17142 (93.71%)
Collingwood 16043-16171 (99.2%)
Essendon 15906-16808 (94.63%)

That fw Bevo instead of grizzling in his pressers should start by thanking the umpires

Bontempelli was the difference smashing us in the clearances, otherwise we win this game very comfortably. (But we don't tag)
Libba was great too
yep!
i just wonder why the media and afl types use "one wood" to describe a particular aspect of the game. it is irrelevant
Dumb saying that’s crept into the lexicon in the last few years. Even heard Caro say it.
It just analogy to the golf bag. The one wood being the no. 1 weapon, like the Bulldod’s weapon is clearance.

Makes no sense given that plenty of golfers have weapons better than a one wood. Phil Mickelson wouldn’t have earned much if the driver was his best club.
Cumberland’s ability to create opportunities inside f50, is really impressive. Defensively he was very good , from memory 6 tackles. Enough said about his kicking, it was one of those days.
He looked out on his feet late in the game. I can’t remember ever seeing a player more spent. Hope it’s because he was playing his new role and just getting the tank together.
Unfortunately second quarter surges have the momentum sapping nemesis of the half time break. A surge like that in the premiership 3rd quarter different story different outcome.
Said to myself at half time, this break couldn’t have come at a worse time.

If Lynch cops a week for that it's utter shit. Lloyd reckons he needed to go up with a knee and hands put to protect himself. It was a last minute contest and to predict the dogs player would go back like that is staggering that ex-afl players don't realise that. That dogs player wouldn't have been knocked out if he wasn't trying to block Lynchs path to begin with. Sure it's never good when a player gets knocked out but he put himself in that situation.

AFL can **** right off

MRO news: Tom Lynch will be sent straight to tribunal for hit on Alex Keath ... The Tigers are reeling after their second-straight loss

more news to come when this report is real and not just wishful thinking by purple and karen

We get a raw deal from the umpires - 6-years in a row of being at the bottom of the free kick differential cannot be coincidence. It’s likely because Balmey gave the snowflakes a massive bake at the end of 2016 so they give us less 50/50’s than other teams and vice versa.

When I watch Charlie Curnow get given the world it does make me wonder when you see Lynch get mauled with barely a free his way week after week - but if Lynch so much breathes on his opponent it’s a free.

The other thing that has crept in is Martin gets afforded no prior opportunity even when he’s not fending.

There are a range of reasons why you lose games of football and umpiring is one of them. We lost by 5-points. McComb was gifted a free for a goal. Back to back soft frees to JUH and Naughton gifted a goal. A dubious 50m against Graham gifted a goal. A HTB free against Baker when he’d taken 2 steps and was tackled gifted a goal. I think there was one other dubious free they got a goal from. From memory we got zero goals from free kicks.

The point is, Graham’s 50m penalty is overlooked 99% of the time if they go 25cm over the mark. The free to McComb is never given directly in front of goal. The little push in the backs can easily be let go (and usually are) and no-one bats an eyelid. Baker’s could have easily been called a ball-up for no prior etc….

But the umpires generally look to pay 50/50’s against us, and very rarely give soft frees to us, particularly in front of goal.

If you give us a few dicey ones in front of goal yesterday and none to the Dogs, we win the game. That’s not umpire bashing, that’s a fact.

All teams across a season ‘win some’ and ‘lose some’ with the umpires and it evens out. They help you win a couple of tight ones, and other times they might contribute to the loss.

But when is the last time over the last 6-years you watched a close margin Tigers game and genuinely thought “Gee, we got the rub of the green with the umpires today and probably jagged a bit of a lucky win”? I can’t recall many, if any.

They are not the only reason we lost yesterday, but the umpiring was a factor.

God forbid we say anything about our aging players

Something l said last year was that we should've been pumping g into out young players instead of Edwards.
