Once they changed Naicos to half forward it changed the nature of the tag. It was perhaps an error in choosing the next player to tag him.
It was a game where so many of the small moments killed us including Shiels holding Daicos at the opening bounce of the last quarter.

Leigh Matthews, Jimmy Bartel, and every campaigner thats seen the footage all agree it was a 50m penalty, but Laura ****ing Kane waxes lyrical and pisses in everyone's pocket calling it a simple 'misunderstanding'

Even the commentary were astonished it wasn't given!

Fall on your sword, you lying POS.

I thought i’d listen to multiple commentary broadcasts for it. They all shouted 50. LOL just admit your umpires ****ed up (15 times in that match) so we can at least have the moral victory

What the AFL dont realise is that game might have one of the highest TV audience of the year. They thought they could get away with making this blunder and sweep it under the carpet like every other Kangas game. Not this time.

Theres Blews, Tin Rattlers, the Cheats and others all weighing in on this.

All other fans, just so you all know. We have this kind if shit****ery happening to us every ****ing week. Keep calling it out. In solidarity ✊🏼

Intellectually I know the points don’t matter either way, but I’ve got bits of this game in my head as soon as I wake up, like it’s the 90s again. It’s infuriating and gutting and exhilarating and such a change from the bleak self-protection I’ve been in all year.

I actually just woke up before from a stressful dream in which we were down to the wire with Gold Coast. Sunday's game was a different kind of trauma lol

“Fifty!”, was the only thing yelled during the game in this lounge room

Afterwards it was a lot more

A lot

Wardlaw seemed to plateau in the 2nd quarter. He seems to have another break in the 4th, but on TV it was apparent that his time was being managed a little bit in the last quarter.

I was behind the bench and George started the 2nd, 3rd, 4th quarters on the bench.

He generally rotated on at the 4th or 5th minute mark.

He’d have a second rotation each quarter and it was generally for LDU directly. He’d spend about 7-8 minutes a quarter on the bench, which aligns with his TOG.

Clarko and coaching staff were obviously mindful to have 1 of LDU and Wardlaw on at all times in the middle, they were never on the bench together.

The most time they spent on the ground together was the first half of the 1st quarter, which showed.

Champion Data have an advanced +\- stat defensive impact stat which they don’t realese publicly yet. Wardlaw had one of the highest metrics of the year. Majority of Collingwoods scoring for the match occurred while he was on the bench.

Sorry for the intrusion, just a thought, I've watched the non-50 about 20 times now and every time I see Luke McDonald fumble a basic ground ball leading to the Daicos kick. You lot have so much talent on your list now and kids like Wardlaw and Sheezel trying to will you over the line and change the culture but it's guys like McDonald who crack under pressure which is why that wheel is still hard to turn, especially as he's a captain. You do need senior players, but not guys who can't practise what they preach onfield and have 5 second half touches when they need to stand up and stem the flow, and fumble when the game is on the line. I think with the right changes over the off-season you guys could rise very quickly next year.

This morning was the first time my wife and I have been able to talk about the experience of that game. She was there and was very troubled by the Collingwood crowd’s entitlement and how angry and awful they became when it wasn’t the easy afternoon they rocked up expecting. Of course McRae and the club encourage them with all the “Magpie Army” rubbish and they successfully intimidated the umpires if not our players, so no chance any of them change anything. She took no joy out of it because of me but also found it an unpleasant day out for other reasons.

Preach.

But you have to remember in Laura’s world McCreery and Sidebottom teleported into the future and predicted that a player going back off the mark and stopping to ask for a 50 was actually trying to play on and it’s all as Travis Cloke would say, Smoke and Shadows, as they practice reading minds at the Westpac Centre.

Same as the priority pick decision last year. Might be a bit of not wanting to be seen favouring us, but it’s now going way against us. She’s had a mare this season, not sure she’s up to the job.
I think from the AFLs perspective she's doing her job perfectly.

Umpires completely changed the momentum of the game and made sure they got the pies over the line 24-14 frees and don't get me started on the untouchable Daicos don't care what anyone
Says I've never seen a more rigged game in my life it was discusting
I can think of a couple of prelims and a couple of Good Friday games against Carlton.

Just a question: Why isn't McBurney making the public statements this week as he usually does?
Because Kane is covering for him. A bit like the way Clarko did for Will Phillips actually.

Clear as day that whoever we pick in the draft this year needs to have a bloodthirst for the contest to help out George inside.

It would help if they could run out a game well too.

Agree that Laura Kane has shown a deeply disturbing characteristic of not having integrity due to her "explanation" of the touched goal and non-50.

It's been lost though that there would've been an hour long meeting with officials in the umpires department that would've ticked off her spin/dribble. She would've had a large say in the response but she's the tip of the rotting, festy melanoma that is AFLbet (calling them AFLbet from now on since their past CEO's are in bed with betting companies).

Tbh I wasn't even that upset by the non-decisions. As appalling as they are I'm used to the umpires having mares and as an umpire understand how difficult it is to umpire firsthand. That AFLbet have decided to lose any credibility they had to defend the indefensible is what has upset me to no end. The result of Laura's untruths is you can't trust them at all. Whether it's because of sheer incompetence or something more sinister is the most important question now.

giantroo little task for you if you have a second to find the footage....

At some stage I think I recall Darcy Moore handpassing from a kick-in whilst still in the square. Instead of having a ball-up at the top of the square, the Umpire explained what he'd done wrong and gave him a mulligan to take the kick this time.

Am I imaging this?
