I wouldn't think too many teams would have the depth to cover the quality of players they are though. Great win, hopefully a couple more back this week and it should be a great game against Uni Blacks, will be a good test.

spot-on! particularly martyn, who is as valuable as weatherley, and lawrence, who just finds the ball and hits targets.
in what i thought was a line-ball game i went for skobs because of the coughlan factor. didn't feature. was he shutdown or didn't play?
According to the team lists in the results on the VAFA website Coughlan played.
Not at all mate. I couldn't get near it to dispose of it poorly.

Flukey wind at Ivanhoe on Saturday, almost 3 quarters for OI, 1.5 for SKOB, Weatherly a gun!!!!!
Says a bit about Woodsy playing his 1st game back in last weekend and keeping Weatherly goal less.
And Bromley this week!!
A good game ruined by the wind.
OI may have 15 minutes of advantage over the whole day.
From what I saw, no tagging, but accountable football.
SKOB's little or no bench by the end of the day.
According SKOB's, they had nearly a fully contingent. OI had some handy "ins" in the reserves.

Long time between posts for myself gentlemen, but i've been trying to do a bit of soul searching down in Chapel Street for my club. Uni Blacks are a well drilled side, and with the inclusion of David Robbins to their side, gives them a number of options in the midfield and up forward. Wonder what they have offered the Liston Trophy Medalist to come play for a uni.
Good to see the Hampton boys give Oakleigh a flogging on their home turf. I trust their feral supporters would have been in full voice from the sideline.
We've got Haileybury this weekend at home. Another tough task ahead for us. Lets hope the ex AFL boys get lost on the way to the game.

I heard from a mate that the St Bernards coach should be sacked after letting Voss stay in the hole unattended in the last q, cost them the game and even the Brrnies 2's players were yelling at the coach from behind the goals to DO SOMETHING!!!...Murph?

Read: I think they are a bit ahead of themselves at SKOBs and we will give it a fair shake later in the year at their home ground. None of our players were tagged.

BS, a bit harsh on the coach, Vossy started there for the start of the last quarter and they kicked 2 quickly so he was justified at that point in leaving him free. Vossy was released back into the midfield once they manned up on him (Great coaching by Lappa) and we kicked a goal straight away so hindsight is a wonderful thing as they say.
As always a tough encounter with StB and we look forward to bouncing one of the branches at Melb High again.
Big Owen played at my club Silvan the last couple of years, was a massive part of our flag in 08, is an apsolute gun superstar what ever you want to call him, great bloke aswell.
When he plays everyone else walks taller, you wouldnt want to get on his bad side.
Good luck to him hope he has a great year.

Just interested to know, he didn't do any damage against us, however the other 21 players did! I have no basis to say OI pay players, am just interested to see why a player who potentially was getting paid good coin and loved by the supporters would leave - was he an OI player prior to going to Silvan, that could be the reason for his return. Read it whichever way you will.

SUGGESTED RESPONSE: Old Ivanhoe is a proud and long established Amateur side on the rise in 2010. We are well recognised by other College Clubs as a leader in the provision of both player welfare, player facilities and supporter comfort. We welcome non-old boys to our Club and look forward to continuing to embrace the true Amateur spirit of football.
A brave effort from Luke Geister to get off his death bed and inspire OEG to their first win. What a miraculous recovery from a guy who couldn't work and might never have played footy again to be running around 2 weeks later.

Oh and just for clarification its an award for THE PRESIDENTS of each club - they go unrecognised but they do a great service.
They are responsible for the actions of their clubs both on & off field and this one is for what happens on field i.e. only approve spillage of Cabernet off the filed (Presidents Lunch etc) not on it.
Mr Taylor I believe will mail a bottle to the winning president at years end - a great jesture.
How does a president stop a player from getting reported????
