he was also a bit undercooked after his broken leg. This was easily his best year though so hard to say how he could've gone
Agree totally. I've been a massive Sheds fan since day one, and still am. Key player.

I remember watching Brando on game day and him saying he wants to break into the middle a bit more was just hard with snipper, cotch, Grigga and Dusty already there. He is a good size and would make a great inside mid
Brando's ball handling in tight and below the knees is not good enough to play inside.

Yeah, i don't really understand why we fall to pieces in finals. Lets finish top 4 next year and at least play 2. Although imagine going out in straight sets....

Obviously i don't think we should delist sheds, but as you rightly said, his finals stats don't look good at all. Just not sure how you work on fixing that.
I think you say it's just three games, each 12 months apart, and back your man in.

One thing we absolutely need to do is get a stronger inside presence. If that's not obvious you haven't watched our three finals.

So right now we look like we are losing Lennon for at best Yarran

Ellis for Tyson which means nothing in terms of FA.

Did not get Bennell or Treloar

Dawson Simpson will take his place in the pantheon of log like Richmond ruckmen

We will not make finals next year
That's the spirit!

Why not just trade Griffiths for Yarran.

Carlton need a key forward.

Wouldn't want to trade Griffiths to Hawthorn they'd turn him into a gun.
Agree on your last point, and confident Griff can do that with us. I would infinity times rather trade Assberry and our second for Brisbane's second, and trade that for Yarran.

Pressure is the answer, we fold under pressure. When we are given space & time, we look very good. When teams decide to bring real pressure, we seem to panic. That is our biggest hurdle, we need players that have composure & good disposal under pressure. Whether our current group can take the next step is anyone's guess.

We've just been really unlucky.

If we made top 4 in 13 or 15 like we should have (bloody umpires in both Freo games) we would have found our feet in finals. Instead we've lost to two of our bogey sides in close games and been smashed by a Port Adelaide that would have beaten anyone on that day.

Make top 4 next year, get a free hit and hopefully win 3 finals.

Cyril wasn't in Cyril's class before he was drafted either.
Yes, he was. He's always been a freak. Played every game in a premiership side at 18, humiliating two Geelong hard men in a crucial contest on grand final day. Freak.

I like Ah Chee but he ain't at Cyril's level. Few ever have been.

Stats, schmats. Outside runner is the junior role in the team, that's why we gave it to KMac. Brando is a very good player but we need the inside presence that Tyson would give us. Cotchin and Miles were the only Tigers to average more contested possessions than Tyson in 2014, when he turned 21 halfway through the year.
You're having a laugh. Junior role? Outside runners are crucial to every side. Does that mean you'd trade Isaac Smith, Stephen Hill, Andrew Gaff or Harley Bennell for insiders who rack up contested possessions, such as Matt Thomas, Tom Bell and Mitch Robinson?

And it's not just stats, Brandon made the AA squad last season and was in contention again this season. Where was Tyson? If we add Tyson to our side at Brandon's expense, what plodders do you suggest would be running up and down the wings for us?
Brando gets the ball mostly in wide open space, Tyson in crowded phone boxes.
Ellis also kicks the ball a lot more than Tyson and handballs less, it's a lot easier to have an effective handball than it is a kick. He also added more inside 50s, rebound 50s, marks, contested marks, uncontested marks, marks inside 50, rebound 50s, one percenters, bounces and had a higher score contribution.

This is true, we fold under pressure, look what happened vs Fremantle this year when the going got tough mistakes happened.

Oh definitely, it's hard to see who will be the solution to our inside woes however, hopefully Conca can string a preseason together but I really hope we trade for an inside beast. It's clearly where we've been beaten in the finals. Norf flogged us on the contested ball.

If we was to trade Ellis for Tyson we would want something else from Melbourne I reckon.

Hardwick tends not to tag, though. If he did, I'd want KMac doing it. Not against Moore on the cheap, but not convinced he's anything more than a flanker either.

Not in the same class, but talented.

I'd do it.

Because they're better and we wouldn't need to.

Tyson is better than Brando.

While I agree we want to hang on to all the talent we can, you have to give to get, and we can cover Brando easier than we can acquire a gun inside mid, which is what Tyson is. Brando is a great runner, but he's not quick, and he's an average finisher. If we swap him for Tyson, maybe Houli plays wing. One day Menadue will, or Drummond - both outstanding runners, both quicker than Brando, and Menadue certainly a better finisher.

No, he's a gun.

Brando gets the ball mostly in wide open space, Tyson in crowded phone boxes.

Hawthorn would want Beanie or Griff, and they can't have em!

Doesn't look good for Shane Edwards.

It's not unfair at all. You can't excuse a player's lack of impact with, "Oh, his teammates didn't get the ball to him". Win your own ball is one of Dimma's mantras. Anyway, Ellis out for Tyson would strengthen our inside mids' ability to get it out to the outsiders.

I would rather keep Brando, and I think you do have to be careful trading such good clubmen, but on a purely football sense, Tyson in, Brando out, strengthens the 22 on the field.

If we agreed to trade him to Hawthorn, they would throw pick 18 at us so fast we'd get windburn.

I think richoatthedisco rates Tyson..:D

Straw man argument. You're putting C grade insiders up against A grade outsiders. Tyson is a B+ insider with a bullet, Ellis, a B+ outsider.

Outside run is important, getting the ball in the first place is more important. I'd rather keep Brando, but I'd rather have Tyson than Brando.

And it's not just stats, Brandon made the AA squad last season and was in contention again this season. Where was Tyson? If we add Tyson to our side at Brandon's expense, what plodders do you suggest would be running up and down the wings for us?
The AA squad? Now who's having a laugh?

If we bring in Tyson and Yarran and Ellis goes out, Yarran or Houli could take Brando's wing. Both quicker and better ball users. Houli just as good an endurance runner (not sure on Yarran). Menadue, CEllis and Drummond might spend some time there next year and you'll be surprised how well they do.

Ellis also kicks the ball a lot more than Tyson and handballs less, it's a lot easier to have an effective handball than it is a kick. Kicks the ball when in acres of space, and often misses easy targets. It's a lot harder to have an effective handball when you're surrounded by four or more of the opposition's best players.

Truth bombs from RATD.
Always magnetic posts
Ah, Gutser. You're too kind. :D

Ellis will probably go top 5 in JDM tonight
Rance
Martin
Jack
Cotch
Miles
Grigg

the top 6 for mine.

I have Brando fighting for the last top 10 spots with Houli, Flossy, Sheds, Lids, Grimey.
