What was your most disappointing moment this year? I know a lot will say the Preliminary Final loss. Fortunately this season was a good one with more memories than disappointments.

My biggest was actually the loss to Essendon. Played poorly, selections were questioned right from the Thursday Night the teams came out, first ever home loss, poor kicking for goal. That was the only loss for the year I lost sleep over, and reading the Essendon board after the game was a huge mistake. Some of the things I read on there that night made me sick.

This!!

First half of the Showdown.

Between the wayward kicking and the interesting contribution by the AFL's 19th Team (24-11 lol) we should've been home and hosed long before the loss of Trengove killed us.

We win that game, we don't lose to Essendon the week after either.

Definitely the Essendon loss. The Collingwood game it was literally the sick men of Port, so although bloody annoying to lose a game we would have won by 30+ if we'd been fit the Bombers loss is the kicker. Definitely the only loss this year I put 90+ % of the result on selections.

Jacko going down and out for 5 weeks. It was the domino for the rest of the shitiness we could have avoided in July and early August.

Next was losing in Sydney when we were good enough to knock them off but couldn't kick straight. The extra lift that would have given the group.

The PF loss was a disappointment but if the above didn't go wrong I reckon we would have avoided that disappointment.

"Superior depth".

Quslity coaching.

That game cost me $20 for a crap view in an industrial wasteland. If Dwayne Russell didn't shake my hand it was the worst day. :p

Losing the prelim.
Losing the second showdown. Hate losing to those blokes, especially when they're so rubbish.
Jackson Trengove going down. He's the heart and soul of our playing group.

Losing to the Crows and Swans is more an annoyance than disappointment.

A world of pain comes my way every time we lose to those asshats.

Jay Schulz getting pipped for the Coleman...

The most disappointing thing this year wasn't caused by the PAFC, except by being the PAFC and not a Victorian club.

My disappointments were everything that went with:
- the AFL side taking several weeks to find form again
- taking too long in some games to stop the opposition from winning clearance after clearance
- our AFL slump mirrored by our SANFL slump and not finishing the season like we started it

The fact that we are still vulnerable to the loss of Trengove and Carlile. Hawthorn can lose Gibson and Lake and play with a second-string defence but still stay competitive. In fact they may have beaten us at AO had Roughy not been suspended for that game.
Also that Lobe is still our only ruckman and as such we lose something when he goes off the ball.

Andrew Moore.

Preseason I felt he would be our breakout player. Moore has Josh Kennedy written all over him in the way he plays and is developing and I hoped to see some progression in that direction. He now could instead be trade bait to another club that could unlock that, or he has 1 last year to stay on the park, hit some peak form and hopefully develop into the gun he could be.
