I put a positive post on their trade thread - basically saying I thought they would get Shiel, and asking if they would chase Wingard (who would be perfect for them). Even referenced their amazing year and how much we sucked as part of Shiel's reasoining

It was deleted within 60 seconds. I get that it is a team board, so they can do what they like, but I assume it means they currently have a complete blanket ban on Carlton/opposition posters. I've never posted there before so it could be new, not sure...

Nah, some blokes just never fit. I remember seeing Stephen O'Reilly for the first time and it just didn't work. Mick Martin for different reasons. Josh Kennedy looked like A 3 times better player the second he pulled on a West Coast jumper too.

But Shiel looks awesome. Here's hoping we haven't jinxed it.

I was told a little while ago that Barker would be returning to the 'Head of Stoppages' post, so the signing of Russell fits the bill. However, my gut feel is that he may be moving on to another club.
