Just got home from work, but missed the mayhem that must have broken out on here. I was able to get the news re. DS about when it broke earlier in the day, but can't get onto BF at work.
I see there have been 90 pages of posts since I left for work this morning and I am currently tossing up over whether or not to bother wading through them.

When I heard the news though, I actually felt relieved. Relieved that the speculation is over, but also that we're not the ones stuck with paying 7 figures a year for 5-6 years for this guy. That's what happens when you have four clubs after one signature. To me it would have been a pyrrhic victory.

I just think, to be paying a midfielder what * will now have to fork out is just insane. I'm much happier to land Setters and draft Walsh and develop them as the newest additions to our midfield.

I am glad the orcs didn't get DS though. He might have been enough to delay their decline for a couple of years.

Also, when did McAdam become a superstar? He's a free hit that lands us a fantastic swingman. McAdam averaged 1.8 goals a game in the SANFL ffs

We've given away two second rounders and the best over ager for a player who turns 24 and played 48 afl matches when we desperately need mids.. Am i missing something?

Relax. With Shiel a no, other deals are now set in place. The McGovern deal will be fine when it’s properly announced and we will get Setterfield quite easily and for great value

Yes lot to play out yet trade period has just started but atm we have done nothing for our midfield next year .
With pick 1 off the table second rounders gone possibly , i sincerely hope we arent including a future first in any Setterfield deal no matter what is coming back .

Boy there's so much negativity in here, that's what happens when you build up a player as the messiah when he definitely was not. Let trade period finish before making quick fire assessments and trust our board until they give us reason not to.
