He was playing NEAFL in the final rounds when Sinclair and Naismith weren't available.

Looking at his stats, it seems he played the final 2 rounds of the NEAFL season after missing the 10 rounds prior through injury.

That being the case it's not overly surprising they didn't rush him into the senior team, especially with finals out of the question, and perhaps already knowing his intentions for next year.

In fairness, do we even know if we are low balling him?

Well it seems if you can believe what you read, he is being offered more by the Bulldogs at the very least.
We are counting on him being willing to accept less because we have his mate SPS.
Money talks! What's to stop him taking the extra cash from another club and still hang out with SPS several days a week
A bit odd if you ask me!
A touch of the Eddy Betts!

Yeah i was wondering if that's what is going on...
Tippett didn't go quite as plan, Buddy seems to be coming to an end sooner than they would like
.. leaves them with Sam Reid and a few kids, at least tall forward-wise

My understanding is Swans still have to pay Franklin $1.4 million per year for at least the next 2 years.

Even if he doesn’t play - same as Tippet.

I assume that the only reason Polson hasn’t been delisted is because we hope to trade him

He’s gotta do something to be worth anything. Think the only reason he didn’t get delisted is that he’s contracted for next season.

INTERNAL BLUES ‘POWER STRUGGLE’ OVER BETTS TRADE
Carlton superiors have been involved in a “power struggle” over a potential trade for former Blue and current Crow Eddie Betts.

Betts has been linked to a move back to Ikon Park, with Adelaide willing to trade the veteran forward if a good enough deal emerges. Gold Coast and Carlton are the clubs most likely to obtain the popular 32-year-old.
However Foxfooty.com.au senior AFL reporter Tom Morris revealed on Monday night’s edition of On the Couch that Carlton list manager Stephen Silvagni told the Crows a fortnight ago the club was not interested in Betts.

How is all this known given he's played 1 game of AFL and managed 3 touches?

Lobbe wasn't great but he was far better performed at AFL level than Cameron has been.

Given we're recruiting Cameron to be a backup option (at least initially) the comparison was obviously made with regards to what they can provide at reserve level.

Lobbe was excellent off the field but on the field he had exactly zero ability outside the centre square, and was on considerably more than Cameron would be.

So we're freeing up space in the cap AND bringing in a player far more suitable to assist in the development of TDK who can now spend more time in the ruck if that's where we want him.

**** off with the player x is a 'good kid' because he wants to come to Carlton even for less money than he'd get elsewhere, or that a player choosing money over coming to Carlton is some blight on his character.

players have a finite amount of time playing this sport and should get their hands on as much as money as they possibly can.

As good as SOS is, surely Teague gets final say on who they should target. Afterall its Teague's arse on the line.

Relax.

Do you really think SOS is going to say to Adelaide “we really want Eddie, please, please, please can we have him? We’ll give you anything you want, we desperately want him.”

It’s all part of the negotiation game - best never to appear desperate. Either as a buyer or a seller.

Crows will be very keen to move on an old, overpaid, unhappy employee.

SOS is waiting for the penny to drop for them.
