Why.? We just got beat by a club that has sat clear on top of the ladder for most of the year, on their unique home ground with something very tangible on the line for them.

Teague wants 2 play a forward half game. Worked ok in his 11 games. Training it over summer should see it work better next season. But a change in personnell up firward will improve it alot as well. Fisher Deluca Gibbons Kennedy Lang Cunners and Dow are not small forwards. They dont get to the fall of the ball enough and they dont consistently put enough def pressure on or get into dangerous positions. This has been no more evident on 2 wet days like today and v richmond. When the ball hits the ground in the firward line we r not dangerous enough. Not being critical of these guys..they are mids..they r trying but the small forward is a unique skill set. We need to go after genuine small forward. Id like to see us target them and see if we can snag one ir pref 2

Here is a list of FA small forwards that I wouldn't mind seeing in the navy blue (for the right price of course):

Jamie Elliot (once he's Andrew Russell-ised he could be elite once again)
Paul Puopolo (1 year deal as a player/mentor to our younger potential SFs i.e Owies)
Daniel Menzel (if he can get his body right he'd be a good get, looking unlikely though)
Tory Dickson (veteran that still has good goalsense, kicked 24 goals from 17 games this year)

All this being said, apparently the coaching staff are really high on Matt Owies potentially being a small forward of the future, so maybe they try to get in one big fish like Paps and then leave the other pocket open for Owies to fill.
