Pick 2 if we get it maybe. But we need to lock up Weitering. Maybe if GWS assure us they won't pick him but that's not something I'd want to do (tamper) or hang my hat on. 2 would be very valuable... I'd rather offer two mid firsts.

could live with a #1 & say Yarran pick (16) for Treloar, Plowman, Phillips type deal.

Interesting concept but would prefer the bookends myself. If we get #1 and #2 we should use them.

Maybe we can trade Bell to Gold Coast for #20 end of first round pick? plus Yarran to Richmond #15 to get us Treloar? (#15 and #20 = 2 academy kids ranked much higher for GWS).

Because the media are up in arms about it... or rather they are starting to make weird concerned sounds that Brisvegas would miss out on getting Schache... which would be their feel good story of the summer.

The next step in the campaign would be to start making noises for Brisvegas to get a start of round 1 priority pick so that Brisvegas could pick up Schache... and give them a massive boost thanks to the feel good story about Brisbane picking up the son of a former Bear.

However, seeing as how the AFL would have to decide that Brisvegas was worthy of a pre-round 1 priority pick, they would have to compare them against us... and somehow, as people have pointed out, they managed to beat us twice this year. So I am also waiting for the cries of "Carlton tanked this year for the picks" to start ringing out and the AFL to decide to punish us by moving our first pick to the end of round 1 so that Brisbane can get picks 1 and 2 from their priority pick and moving up a place in the draft.

It's laughable, al year the media and AFL public make a sport of declaring how bad we are, how bad our list is.

Then lo and behold as soon as the draft comes around and their is talk of compensation picks, all of sudden we are actually good enough to engineer results.

If we get Plowman, then there is a good chance that we wouldnt be chasing Carlisle all that hard which means that we could be using the PSD as the stick and pick 10 as the carrot in regards to acquiring Treloar.

In theory I agree. But we are REALLY into Carlisle. Would be nice to have defensive depth for the first time in a long time!
