I can confirm from a very close source of mine (his name rhymes with Lark Mogiudice) that Carlisle will in fact be coming to Carlton on a 4 year deal estimated at around $700,000 per year. Both clubs at a stalemate on the deal, with Essendon demanding pick 19 and a very solid player (Curnow or White possibly), with Carlton not willing to give up a player of this calibre, instead offering their third round pick and next year's second rounder. A third club may come into the equation, with a possible three way trade reading like:

Carlisle and a third rounder to Carlton
Pick 4 and 19 to St Kilda
Jack Billings and next year's second rounder to Essendon

We don't have pick 19.

Hi guys,

Rumour coming out today from a very reliable source (however not confirmed) is that Carlton are seriously interested in pursuing Charlie Dixon. Believed to have offered him big money (in excess of 700k) for the power forward. The club believed to have offered Walker and a third rounder

The AFL environment can no longer entertain the genuine swingman. In the good old days, when I was young, it was common for a player to play at the same end for the entire game. A howling gale meant you wanted the consummate utility who could defend when the other team was kicking with the gale and kick goals when you were kicking with the gale. Handy player at Kardinia Park, Windy Hill, Moorabbin and Western Oval.

Please...it's mathematically impossible for Simon White to be the stumbling block in a trade negotiation.

Haha, came to post something similar. If we aren't willing to give up White and pick 19/20 for Carlisle, we must be VERY concerned about his availability for the next 12-24 months. I would happily do that deal even if he was to miss a year.

What?

Where did we get Pick 4 from?

Who is losing what in this trade?

What are you taking about?

Essendon are giving up pick 4 and the 19 from us for Billings. For a side faced with rebuilding and holes all over the ground, it would be ridiculous behaviour
Jack Billings is 20 years old and will be a champion of the game. It would seem it would be not overly ridiculous, however this is just a rumour I heard.
