??????? Green is 22, drafted in 2010. Bolton last coached in Tassie in 2008.

His profile does say he had an outstanding junior career for Clarence. Was 15 and turned 16 during Bolton's last year there. Not beyond the realms of possibility he stepped up for a senior game or two as a youngster or at the very least crossed paths with Bolton a fair bit at the club.

Haven't heard of front loading contracts? No doubt the pies would've paid big contracts this season with all the draft picks they've had over the past couple years.
yeah... I have heard of front loading contracts. I have also heard of back loading contracts to balance out their TPP. Two guys going in for a new contact at the same time, but want approximately the same amount, but if the team agrees with that, it will put them over their TPP for the next year and breach their salary cap requirements and therefore put them in breach of the rules and regulations regarding the TPP.

So they say to one guy, we are going to pay you most of your salary this year and bugger all next year and say to the other guy, we are going to pay most of your salary next year, but bugger all this year.

With me so far?

One thing that no one has managed to bring up yet is the allowed breach of the salary cap. I think that it got introduced last year? It means that if you are under the cap for x number of years, you are allowed to be over the cap by a certain amount for y number of years. Considering that it has only just been introduced, I doubt that many clubs would have enough banked to be able to breach so much. Unless the AFL abandoned that?

How would Green's value compare to Bell's?
Different players in style but I think the level of importance to each team is similar, both handy types but would suggest Green has more skill and definitely quicker, Bell is more inside crash and bash but lacks the polish.

Not much between them in terms of effectiveness and importance to there respective teams in my opinion so would be close to a straight swap or similar draft rewards if they went to different clubs.

I love lil Josh Green. Great goal sneak.

Convince me that Green isn't just another fringe talent ala Dick and Tutt. Sure, he kicked 25 this year but someone had to score for them.

I don't want to hate on the guy but he doesn't seem the type that would be a contributor on a quality finals team (the type of players we need to be bringing in). Another stop gap type.

"Green has been linked to his former coach at Clarence in Tasmania, Brendan Bolton, who has taken over at Carlton." - http://www.news.com.au/sport/afl/br...ping-stef-martin/story-fndv8d6r-1227516770514
I was with Coona initially, this might be right though. Possible he played seniors for Clarence in BB's only year there in 2008. Would've been 15/16 I think, just turned 23. Maybe a few games. Probably trained with the seniors if he didn't actually play I'd suggest. I should actually just know, I'm losing it.

He's a very good little player.
Aggressive, hungry , skilled, fantastic recovery and hard at it.

Could provide terrific forward defensive pressure, unlike some smalls fwds.

Would be a more skilled, red headed Paul Puopolo.

Hadn't seen this reply. Reckon you are spot on there ODN. Too sharp for me.

Personally I'd love the kid at Carlton. Have heard good things from a few people who know him & my mad Lions supporting mate loves him. Quick, decent hands for a little fella, can jag a goal. Great with his forward 50 pressure too.

Wowwee.. Should you let the pies know they're doing it wrong?

Patrick Karnezis's is on Carlton radar as well, Bucks treated him like sh#t during the year. There was discussions he needed to work on his defence so he went to VFL and became the no1 tackler, 20+ pos and kicked goals for several weeks bucks told him there wasn't going to be an opportunity for him, towards the end of year bucks wanted to play him but said he would rather play VFL cause he wont be there next year.

Also know Carlton were looking to trade for him when at Brisbane but Collingwood beat us.

Are you going to change your name once the big man leaves?
Maybe, if they will let me, not real sure of the process with that TBH.

When I chose it I thought I was pretty safe but that was pre FA.:(

Might need to revert to a past champion now, that is the safest way.
If Kreuzer leaves, he then becomes a past champion of the club meaning you could then keep your user name. Is that right?

Do you know where he will end up ?

Nominating the Scum tommowow it seems.

Anyhow let them eat up 700 K p/a for Treloar, he isn't an established star yet.
