If Petracca gets his Demons contract terminated does that make him a free agent?

Here's the thing... if his contract naturally expired this year, he'd be a restricted free agent - 9 years service, in top 25%. But, that would allow Melbourne to match an offer.

If he wins at a grievance hearing, it's hardly likely that the outcome would allow Melbourne to match an offer. So you'd think that he'd push for classification as an unrestricted free agent, allowing him to go to a club of his choice.

The follow-up to that is then if Melbourne get compensation. You'd think they probably will, but it's unchartered waters. We really don't know what will happen.
