Twomey seems to be taking joy in hating on us this year. Over the past few months he has been really condescending and laughs at us at every opportunity on gettable. There's a clear attitude shift, I reckon someone's pissed him off at the club.

Matt Kennedy, no taker has emerged so is likely to return to Carlton. Similar with Lewis Young." @CalTwomey

Scoring was not the problem in 2024How do you know we haven't done this with SDK, Leek and Balta all coming ooc next year? Need to work with what's available.
Port "improvised"? By what, bringing in potatoes like Zerk-Thatcher and Esava?
We have bigger holes to plug than a second KPD... midfield and small forwards. Like I mentioned previously, if a second KPD was our biggest worry why were we down 60-0 despite Young doing a good job?

Matthew OwiesWho is the "salary dump" player we're apparently interested in and referred to a few times?
If anyone moves the ball too slowly, too often, they're uncompetitive!Same, although slow players are probably on the nose these days.
If we don't move the ball faster next year we're going to be uncompetitive.
Impossible without two firsts I would imagine. And if we are getting no bites with Kennedy, Young or Owies, then it's going to be difficult to satisfy Port.
Even other clubs, the Oliver stuff is hilarious...Certainly amusing
Player X gone, no staying, etc, etc
I'm sure Austin is all over it
How do we get 11 or 13 & keep our F1?
If anyone moves the ball too slowly, too often, they're uncompetitive!
Exactly - can’t see how we make them happy without coughing up 12 & at very least this years’ 2nd.But it seems apparent Port won't accept one first rounder only and we're not giving them ours this year.
And **** over port? He's looking after his current employer. The employer he may still be playing for next season too. He's doing the right thing by him and port.If Houston is real he should put his chips in and nominate a club.
Today agree …. How those players got those contracts is beyond me even if they were minimal , add young and pitto contract to that aswellI hope we learn from this. We signed Cottrell for 3 years in March, Durdin and Boyd for 2 years in May, Fog for 2 years in June.
I know we probably got them all for bottom dollar but we do limit ourselves to re-signing our fringe players so early and for multi year deals.
Not saying they didn't deserve contracts (though I would delist Durdin before Owies and Carroll) just that the rush to do it carries risk.
No other club would offer Cotts 3 years. Hes the type of player that should be on a 1-2 year contract. Durdin wouldn't be on a list in 2025 if he hadn't signed that deal. Boyd worth 1 year. Fog I'm happy with 2 but even he could be 1.
Kennedy fulfills that second string midfielder spot at every club. No club would he be first choice.Interesting on Kennedy. Would've thought someone would be keen on him.
Not surprised on Lewis.
Do you think Gibbs *** us over when nominating the Crows? And **** over port? He's looking after his current employer. The employer he may still be playing for next season too. He's doing the right thing by him and port.
He's been like this since sos and the rebuild started imo.Twomey seems to be taking joy in hating on us this year. Of course we don't know whether we will pull a rabbit out of the hat in the next couple of days..but looks highly unlikely. Our back 6 has been set up to rebound more than lock down key forwards. It has allowed teams to take advantage when we get beaten in the middle. Agree we need to change the midfield a bit, but if you look at the difference between TDK v Pitto the midfield is less about new personnel (albeit we need some foot speed)
BTW Port made the Prelim in case you missed it, with the potato's.
No because we had an exceptional situation in which their list boss came out and basically nominated Gibbs hinself so we still had huge leverage. Houston nominates and port have far less bargaining power due to Carltons repeated openly stated preference of taking picks to the draft.Do you think Gibbs *** us over when nominating the Crows?
