There was word a few months back that North was open to split their pick 2.

I was surprised at the time as picking splitting is normally more suitable to clubs early in the rebuild or with a trade target.
The AFL.com article is suggesting a pick slide might help North get Houston, plus keep a selection in the first round. I guess it is similar to West Coast with Baker.

I'm surprised we aren't having more of a look at Tomlinson to be honest. Would be easy enough to get out of Melbourne and would be a great CHB for us.

I don't mind taking DGB as a rookie hit and see what he can do, but feel like Tomlinson would actually add to our defence.

I would assume we have. Austin is looking at every option

I am sure there is a lot happening that the media and people on here don’t know yet.

I’m really looking forward to how it all plays out. Even Austin can’t be sure yet

If North could get Houston they 100% do that deal. I think the Pies deal is more likely then not to fall over so could see it happening. But I assume North aren't offering up F1 with 12 so what else could they throw in to get it done?

McGrath was a HBF at junior level.

He's a (very) good player, but it was a pretty uninspiring #1 choice IMO.
Yes.

I wonder what held more weight in Gibbs # 1 status. His 18’s rep work on ball or his Glenelg league football where I think he played more wing/hb.

Either way certainly a much better footballer than McGrath.

I never had a problem with Gibbs off half back if that’s where he could influence the game most. Unfortunately we were just shit for most of his career.

All 3 options have merit, but I do like the prospect of taking 12 and 14 to the draft

Could pick 3 be a multiple AA? Sure, but you can still win flags without them, Baker, Short, Balta, McIntosh, Graham, Broad come to mind

If we are trading for pick 3, think it will be a 3 way deal with the Tigers, where we gain their pick 51, which will come in a minimum of 7-8 picks for us to use on Ben

Also good that we keep the Pies honest in the Houston deal

People seem to rate Draper more. It's funny thay we'd go for the injury prone kid over the other dont you think? Ironic!

Anyway...do we rate Yazz? Do we know them? Is Yazz actually that other poster who posted tomes for a few days then disappeared?
Or are they known?
You're thinking of Glicksy11, who changed his username to Bagger24.

Could Liam Ryan be added to pick 3 deal or nah….

Pick 3 is worth 2348 pts

Picks 12 and 14 worth 2840

That’s roughly a difference of pick 50.

Austin has made it clear he wants 2 picks inside 20 not sure how that deal for pick 3 would work for us.

Agree, we need to push harder for something better back.
WC want the trade - not us, so we need pick 26 to come with 3.
We’ve invested heavily in 14. Similar pick next year lost plus our 2nd this year.
Can’t see why that isn’t a fair deal for WC getting two picks they desperately need.

This is fantasy land stuff. Not happening. Three live options still being considered (none of them involve Moir)

1. Turn 12 and 14 into 3 and some extra Campo points
2. Take 12 and 14 to the draft
3. Trade 12 for Houston and take 14 to the draft (if Pies / Suns / Power falls over)

I rate the likelihood in that order.
Thanks. I’m liking this. Bold and clear.

Yep. Also Selwood got to go directly into the midfield of a Premiership contender and his career flourished. Gibbs came into a dumpster fire with zero leadership.

The opportunity that Selwood was afforded would be offered to a gun young mid that we draft now. Into the midfield of a Premiership contender with great leadership. It's a great opportunity to create a great player.
Gibbs and Murphy were also in an envioronment that needed them to play from day 1 and never forced them to earn a spot. both very good players but both could have been more than they were in a different environment, injuries not withstanding

Big NAH to injury prone.

Pick 3 could also be Dustin Martin….
Got to risk it for the biscuit

Yazz has only posted 3 times in 15 years and all are close to on the money
