The academy has only really paid dividends over past 2 or so years tbf, they've been making head scratching trades for much longer.

Cal Ah Chee. Is the first to spring to mind had a great finals series. Solid improvement since Cripps imprinted his greatness onto him a couple of year ago.

Yeah its not just a coincedence that all the"big name" player deals drag through the whole week of the trade until the last day or two.
I don't believe we're all that naive to think other wise?

Similar to clubs re-signing players but not announcing it and having it in the back pocket for weeks, waiting for when a good news story is needed.

It's all marketing and it's not just the AFL that does it, clubs do it too.

This Dan Houston thing is so confusing. It sounds like he is happy to go to any club that can pay Port’s asking price. So be it if that is North Melbourne.

To me it sounds like he wants Carlton to offer Port something they will accept so he can come to us.

I will be surprised if he gets to us tbh and think he may well stay another year, depending on him and his girl friend being happy with that scenario.
