How do you know O'Brien got dropped for a poor performance?

And who would you have picked instead of Willow, Macreadie and Stocker, apart from Kennedey who else was hard done by?
O'brien has been terrible in most games. Let's not sugar coat it. Macreadie isn't match fit after an interrupted preseason yet he's selected after two reserves games. Why did we recruit Goddard? Schumacher should be given a run and an opportunity. Fact is players are being gifted games even with poor performance. This is a massive issue.

Got to show some compassion for the I want it now brigade.

Tipping most of them haven't been as lucky as other who have seen the great times.

Imagine being under 25 and copping crap for most if not all that time.

To them we have been nothing but a basket case. The past means nothing to them, only their reality does.

I feel sorry for the young ones.

I'm almost 60, been following the Blues since Barrassi defected from Melbourne when I was 5. I've seen my share of great sides and premierships.

My son will turn 25 this week, so he was about 5 when we last played in a GF. We have been various degrees of crap all his football following life. I feel guilt for foisting this on him. I wouldn't blame him if he jumped ship, but he won't as he will stick fat, (and knows it would break my heart.)

To some this is a game, to some it is a business, to us loyal supporters who have invested our emotions into the performance of strangers wearing a club guernsey it is more than either. It plucks at our humanity. I too feel very sorry for the young ones who have invested themselves into the Navy Blue cause. I understand the needs of the 'I want it now' brigade. I wish I had the answers, I really do, for it hurts those with long histories just as much, if in a slightly different way as the more recent followers.

All I can ask is hang in there Baggers.

Again, how do you know if LOB was dropped?

Goddard could have been an option, do you think he has the agility of a Macreadie?

Schumacher is developing, but there is no way he was ahead of Willo or Stocker

Don't get me wrong, I have similar concerns about players being called up after short stints, but currently the cupboard is pretty thin. Hopefully that will change over the next 2-3 weeks

Therin lies the problem. Player's are being gifted games and pick and choose when to perform without the fear of being dropped.

I have already conceded Kennedy, I agree, but who else?
Garlett or even Fasolo Can play forward relieves Ed from that shocking position he's been asked to play. These are the mature age players sos has recruited. Why did we select Goddard if he can't get a game when Jones, Plowman and Simpson are injured? Even Levi is playing defence ahead of him.
Murphy injured this week. No problem same players that performed last week will still get a game. There should be certain non negotiables each and every week layed down by the coach. The first one must be intent application & desire if this isn't performed then the player or players get dropped. We need to set standards regardless of who the players are.

Blame and disown are 2 different things down in the bayou.

i think if there is a significant repetition of the GWS loss over the next 2 months, then it will be hard for BB to remain coach without a massive review by an independent - like the Pies with Buckley. Mitigating circs will be injuries to key players etc.
If we get more honorable losses plus a few more wins, then I am ok with that, because I know the development is coming with another preseason
errrrrrr it's two years of three wins
there's no such thing as close wins
Saints have won four with heaps of injuries
gold coast have won three and been competitive
Brisbane are in the eight

3 wins from his last 40 odd games

There can be no fairytale

and Buckley and Hardwick didn't lead their teams to 4 from 40

that's the land of no return

Sorry for them? No because it could be any number of clubs that have never got anywhere. St Kilda Fremantle Melbourne for example been waiting longer than us. At least our younger supporters can say they follow a club with success in its story.

But I hope ours get there first.
there's no such thing as saying kids follow a club with a success story
lol

The fact is we have a lot of young players between 18 and 22 and cant play all of them. So Stocker gets games. Kennedy needs more testing of that ankle at the lower level. I dont mind if he plays reserves for another 6 weeks.

I don't know where else to put this. Mods please help.

Effing Mumford, gets effing no sanction for effing deliberately caving in Murphy's effing ribs, but Daisey faces sanction for telling a boundary umpire he didn't think the ump was unbiased.

What idiocy has this game come to?

and that was an unacceptable mistake from bolton.

it's these type of things in games where bolton leans towards development rather than winning which is why we didn't win the games were could have.

and it's hard for the boys to front up every week when the wins aren't there. you could see cripps' frustration yesterday.

winning and development don't have to be mutually exclusive.
Do you really think Bolton is sole person that decides for the club that development comes before winning?

If we don't, what do you say?
If we fail in both games. I would have to concede that our playing group are either too young and raw. Too much left to too few and maybe our Coaching and game plan is getting the best outcome or extracting our full potential.
I will be even more disappointed that I feel right now.
If we can't knock off the saints, with all the personnel missing. I will spew in my weetbix !!

Good post JF90

If Kennedy needs more testing of that ankle and as long as 6 weeks to get it right, why did we take him to Sydney as an emergency, why did we play LOB before him after he was dropped and played zero games in the NB's?

Why did we not have Willo and McReadie fully test their injuries in the NB's before elevating them?

What has Setterfield ( returning from a knee recon) really shown to deserve games before Kennedy other than the fact that he was a higher draft pick?

I don't know if Kennedy is any good or not but, IMO and from the outside looking in, it seems that he is marked harder than most others in the club.
