If Kennedy needs more testing of that ankle and as long as 6 weeks to get it right, why did we take him to Sydney as an emergency, why did we play LOB before him after he was dropped and played zero games in the NB's?

Why did we not have Willo and McReadie fully test their injuries in the NB's before elevating them?

What has Setterfield ( returning from a knee recon) really shown to deserve games before Kennedy other than the fact that he was a higher draft pick?

I don't know if Kennedy is any good or not but, IMO and from the outside looking in, it seems that he is marked harder than most others in the club.
Geez. How the hell would I know. I only gave an opinion to help the conversation along. Like everyone does........;)
Maybe ring the club for the answers.

My opinion (and what would I know siting here eating kfc at my pc) is that we want to trade our first pick away for a senior player. But you can not do that if its pick 1. What do we need more? Another gun kid or a gun mature age mid? So sos looks at the crows and thinks they will finish low enough to get us a juicy pick to make an attract offer to a club next trade period. So while we may lose access to the best kid in the draft, we get a mature age player(which in my opnion is a greater priority) and liam stocker who I think has as much, if not more upside than walsh!
more upside than Walsh??? Aye currumba!! Im not too hopeful on that call.

I had great reservations when we cut Sam Rowe from our list. Now the chickens are coming home to roost.
We have 11 injuries (27.5%). Lack of big bodies, lack of confidence, fear to take chances and risks.
The lack of moves from the coaching box is evident. When you are 8 goals down in the first quarter you stop the bleeding and flood and try and claw your way back into the game.

Easy to throw the towel in, but everyone has to pick themselves up, dust themselves down, and take on St.Kilda.
Sacking a coach will make the supporters feel good, but to what end? You end up fumbling around for the rest of the season. You do it at the end of the season, not now.

Chris Judd got snappy last night, and clearly he is feeling the pressure. Stocker will be having a lot of pressure on him as people start pointing the finger at him, even though he has done nothing wrong, other than get selected in the draft.

A couple of the kids need to have a break. Walsh is starting to show fatigue as is Cripps. Thomas once again failed as an onfield leader. Need all of the experienced big body players where the heat is for the next few weeks.

Finally Logiudice is actually doing the right thing. Keep a low profile. The more interviews he does, the more questions he has to answer, and the news cycles keep it as a major story. The media are desperately trying to trap him.

Our lack of depth is hurting, as we all knew it would. It would be great if we could talk Grigg into coming back mid-season and playing out the year with us. His experience and big body would be invaluable.

Most of us know that it's possible but is it probable?
all the games to the bye are all winnable if we play like we did against collingwood, bulldogs and the 1st half of the hawthorn game especially if most of our injured players come back for them (simpson, jones, williamson, plowman etc)

I think right now we have too many mentally fragile players in the team.

Rowe wouldn't have played a game all season (including on the weekend) and would be one year slower. McCreadie should never have been selected as we were way too tall and had a lack of game time in the lead up.

Grigg is retiring because he can't get on the Park. Can't see how another injured player would help us.

Article over here in the local rag this morning basically says we're asking kids to do mans work and rebuilding with youth never works (I assume the qualification is "too much youth never works")

It's a fair enough assessment. SOS knew this and has tried to get mature bodies with games experience but they haven't come so its a case of suck it up for
now.

Hopefully some experienced heads back this week will provide a better showing and I would certainly move Ed out of that forward line and back into midfield rotations along with Gibbons.

Let's hope so.
Let's really hope so.
If it does not, all hell will break loose (externally power-broker driven).

My understanding is that Mike Fitzpatrick has taken a very keen interest in results (or lack there of).
**** Mike Fitzpatrick to little to late from that quarter, and if Bruce The Mouth Mathieson has anything to say we should jam his pokies right up his big fat clacker, like we should have done when he was lobbying for Malthouse.

Haha might delete later. But I’m sick of explaining something that is clear as day to me! But explaining it to other So called supporters really get me going.
Dont you dare delete it as it is spot on and the sooner people wake up to the fact the better off we will be. 👍🏽

Imagine if we got Lachie Neale instead of Brisbane our midfield would be humming right now and we would have won most games that we lost, we are just one support act for Cripps away from turning the corner imo, would take the pressure off Cripps and our young mids. We have to find our Neale ASAP.

Care factor zero.

Riddle me this, if it was so obvious that 2019 could be a worse year, then why the heck would we exchange our 1st round pick with Adelaide?

Explain?

That pick swap sure as heck looks like the club backed itself to be a LOT better THIS year. SOS, Agresta, Lloyd, Judd, Bolton all signed off on it. That confidence was due to us being better this year. 2018 was and should be ground zero, not this year.

Note, I liked and supported that exchange, since I too thought we would be a lot better this year.
Because they rated Stocker highly and last years Draft was one of the best ever as far as talent goes, this years draft will be nowhere near as good and Stocker will probably be the equal or better than this years top pick by the end of the year.

Do you really think Bolton is sole person that decides for the club that development comes before winning?
bolton can only control what he can control. he can't do anything about the list/available players he has at his disposal, but he can decide how to best utilize.

maybe with different selections/in game tactics we'd still be 1-8. but i don't believe bolton has put us in best position possible to win winnable games this year.

Yeah someone like that would make a massive difference to our midfield game and not getting Shiel has hurt us.

I also believe that the coaching panel/MC need to urgently address how they are using Ed and Gibbons. Both are pure mids and should be playing there
or not at all.

I certainly don't believe Fisher should be a full time mid and being bull headed about getting games into youngsters at all costs is mis reading the lie of the land at the moment.

With the right personal available our back line is more than capable and our forward line is starting to work. Our midfield is the issue and is totally unbalanced with too many inexperienced bodies. This puts our back line under pressure and drys up the supply to our forward line.

That is definitely something we can lay at the coaches door.

If .. what a great word some poet wrote about it once.. moral of the story don't spend it waiting for IF's.

You are entitled to your witty* literary opinion of course, but . . .

For the bedwetters there are some lines worth repeating, such as the opening stanza:

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,

Then there is:

If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,

And also:

If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;

With the (to modern ears admittedly sexist) punchline being:

If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!

For those who are calling for BB to be sacked a reread of the whole poem might not go astray.

* Witty because the whole poem is a collection of "ifs". Your opinion that the message of the poem is don't wait for ifs would thus be derisory of the very structure of the poem, a collection of ifs one shouldn't wait for (i.e. shouldn't bother reading).

Sure Nostradamus. Your word is gospel. Let it be set in stone, 100% sure that Stocker will be equal or better than Matt Rowell and Noah Anderson.

Back in the real world, no one knows for sure AND the pick swap was never intended to be for pick 1. Did you hear Judd? He stated it. We are massively under-performing; expectation was pick 5 (or thereabouts), never pick 1.

We have 14 rounds to get it right.

Care factor zero.

Sure.

By the way, are you a multi-time premiership winning captain and former head of the AFL? I doubt it. Back in the real world, Wallsy was inserted into the inner-sanctum in part due to Fitzy. Believe or don't believe believe, care factor zero.

If we continue the recent form no one will come.
That's why wins matter.
That's why we need to end the drubbings now.
Pushing our skinny kids into the middle and watching them get slaughtered will see the Neale/Rockliffe/Shiel types definitely avoid us again.

finally - I've heard it all - questioning kreuzer's courage now......the well of things to panic-post about has officially run dry...........

Don't mis-quote me. I wasn't questioning his courage - that's ridiculous.

I was questioning, that when something such as the Murphy/Mumford incident happened is our biggest player in a Carlton guernsey going to stand up to him, extracting some retribution, trying to protect our young players.

It was question not a statement.

FFS - we had people on here questioning Fishers courage and the kid is about 70kg ringing wet.

In case you hadn't noticed the hot topic at the moment is Carltons lack of leadership.
