Nothing earth shattering, surely we still have time to achieve that result?
I mean, that's the trick. We're nine rounds in, and people are all, "I don't even know if we'll win another game this year!"

We won 2 last year; are we worse this year or better than that? We're better? Cool; how much better? Anyone got our percentage from round 9, 2018?

Isn't there enough games towards the back end of the year to satisfy people? Why are people already celebrating Adelaide's first no 1 pick, when we haven't even come last yet? Plenty of footy to play first, and plenty of sides can and have underestimated teams like ours in the past.

what i expecting next week is an angry Patrick Cripps, i'm hoping that he has the leadership to have mustered an angry 21 behind him. I hope that big K runs around laying the knee into everyone he can find and busting up a few ribs (fair play apparently) St kilda to be smashed by 40 points
Don’t forget breaking a few cheek bones as well, although with Chrisso running the show crucifixion wouldnt be out of the question for the Carlton players involved.

Sorry for them? No because it could be any number of clubs that have never got anywhere. St Kilda Fremantle Melbourne for example been waiting longer than us. At least our younger supporters can say they follow a club with success in its story.

But I hope ours get there first.
And not just success the equal most success, be proud Blue Baggers.

errrrrrr it's two years of three wins
there's no such thing as close wins
Saints have won four with heaps of injuries
gold coast have won three and been competitive
Brisbane are in the eight

3 wins from his last 40 odd games

There can be no fairytale

and Buckley and Hardwick didn't lead their teams to 4 from 40

that's the land of no return
Buckley started with a premiership team and it still took him what 10 years to even make a grand final, stupid comparison. Hardwick as well I mean give me a break, give Bolton 10 years and I will guarantee you at least 2 flags minimum.

Who is actually on our match committee?
Very good question. I have asked this very question on a number of occasions over the years and never got an answer.

Hopefully you have more luck AWG :)

I’ll take a stab

I’de assume it would be Bolton, Bruce, Barker, Teague and Amos

Don’t think Judd or Lloyd would have anything to do with it but I’m only guessing

Edit: possibly Doc as well

Yeah someone like that would make a massive difference to our midfield game and not getting Shiel has hurt us.

I also believe that the coaching panel/MC need to urgently address how they are using Ed and Gibbons. Both are pure mids and should be playing there
or not at all.

I certainly don't believe Fisher should be a full time mid and being bull headed about getting games into youngsters at all costs is mis reading the lie of the land at the moment.

With the right personal available our back line is more than capable and our forward line is starting to work. Our midfield is the issue and is totally unbalanced with too many inexperienced bodies. This puts our back line under pressure and drys up the supply to our forward line.

That is definitely something we can lay at the coaches door.
Not sure you can only blame Bolton but I agree with the rest.
We have 4 winnable games coming up and I would like to see Dow SPS Fish get a substantial break from the centre work, let’s get Gibbons in there for an extended run and throw Ed back in at times, give Stocker some strong midfield minutes and the one I would like to see get some serious time in there is Cunners as he now has the size and core strength to win the ball and the speed and evasiveness to burst away.

Against Saints at the start I would like to see Kreuser, Cripps, Gibbons and Cunners start in the guts, Fish can play forward as can Dow and I’d like to see SPS given a run off half back with Walsh and Setters on the wings. Rotate from there but use that as our starting point instead of Cripps Dow and Fish or SPS.

If we continue the recent form no one will come.
That's why wins matter.
That's why we need to end the drubbings now.
Pushing our skinny kids into the middle and watching them get slaughtered will see the Neale/Rockliffe/Shiel types definitely avoid us again.
How may drubbings did Brisbane have last year? Lachine Neale didnt mind going there, Charlie Cameron too.
Can we stop with this silliness and non logical thinking. We had one of the worst seasons in the history of the game last year and Gov wanted in and so did a few others.
Stop with the Doomsday. and as for your previous post "Massively" underperformed is not the words he used. Underperformed is yes in terms of W's and L's but a few kicks and we (as well as Juddy) would be singing a different tune

gov is a bit player!
he's not someone most clubs chased

You are entitled to your witty* literary opinion of course, but . . .

For the bedwetters there are some lines worth repeating, such as the opening stanza:

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,

Then there is:

If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,

And also:

If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;

With the (to modern ears admittedly sexist) punchline being:

If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!

For those who are calling for BB to be sacked a reread of the whole poem might not go astray.

* Witty because the whole poem is a collection of "ifs". Your opinion that the message of the poem is don't wait for ifs would thus be derisory of the very structure of the poem, a collection of ifs one shouldn't wait for (i.e. shouldn't bother reading).
Or maybe instead of waiting for IF's you make your own destiny and work harder longer than those you compete against including your team mates to be the best you can be as a team member.
Because those who are too lazy to go the extra mile will always let you down in the end.

You need a new crystal ball
So you’re saying it’s not on it’s way?
Lots of blowing smoke up people .., and not going very good..

What do u out it down to.?

Do u think positions need to be examined on the board level.. maybe even president.. coaches.. recruiters etc? Or do u think everything is going to plan?

Firstly, put personal expectations to one side

As an example, the MC, Bolton etc have handed over ownership to our young mids, which is to the detriment to short term results

If this strategy was agreed to by all the main decision makers, there is no point in changing tact midstream

Stop looking for someone to blame

Gov has performed very well so far for someone who is not fully fit and is not getting any favours from our midfield.
He will be a very good player and solid contributed for many years to come.
Setters chose us over the dopers.
You can stay down in the dumps and proclaim this woe is us nonsense. I am not. I have seen enough to still be excited.
Don't get me wrong I am not happy we are 1-8 but lets see how the rest of this year pans out before we rip the walls down.

I wrote it as the coaches as a whole not just Bolts and probably more accurately the Match Committee (if that includes people other than the coaches). Certainly more than one person decides whose playing and where they play each week.

I'm not going to blame you...

but there is an underlying problem that can't be denied

and when you have a problem of winning one of nine

you might find that there are a few problems entangling the situation.
and that the whole strategy was flawed.. therefore there might be all kinds of classes
development
recruitment
list management
coaching
etc

I'm not looking at blaming one thing

I know it's a bunch of things at work here!

performed ok for a bit player..

he rarely touches the ball more than ten times
pressure acts are nothing to write home about

but when you're happy with everything at the club I can see why we're 1/8

hardly set the league alight so we have an absolute gun that chose us over everybody else

I would think we offered him more than anybody else and not many teams would have loved his work rate

he's what ? 24/25 as played less than 60 games?

injury prone and not high work rate.
