At least Paddy Dow didn't stop trying chasing and trying to win the ball, even when we were getting smashed and most of his teammates gave up the ghost.

He didn't have a particularly good game, but the total effort and hard work he put in for 4 quarters was praise worthy (in my opinion)

He gets a tick from me.
Mentioned on the game day thread he needs a bloody haircut.
His fringe seriously hangs down to his nose.
Spends more time flicking it away than concentrating on the game

Setterfield's lack of intensity really stood out, which is a real worry given the whole team wasn't switched on. Just jogged around and let his opponent lead him to the ball all day.
Wouldn't read too much into a young player's first run against old team mates.

Continued the form through from the Pies game.

Again effort by majority of players was lacking.

The players need to be shown a tape just of the defensive running of GWS, not just their midfield but players like Cameron and Greene.

Worried about Cripps why the hell isn't Kennedy in the team? Is it the match committee's plan to wait until Cripps is broken?

Nothing I have seen convinces me that we have decent match day coach. The evidence continues to mount that Bolton will not take us to success.

We will finish last, be looking for a new coach and no players will want to come to our club. Hopefully our player retention continues to remain high.

To the players - soft
To Bolton- coach.

You have to react in the moment before the dam breaks when you coach. Silvagni and e curnow should have been on the ball 15 mins into 1st qtr. Stop teaching and theorising on match days and go into battle mode and a small tip (Play Kennedy)
You've been warming up those scrawny fingers all day in anticipation. Time to shine hey

I have to laugh at those calling for SOS's head when it was he that built the team that just thumped us.
Speaking of Giants surely that experiment has to end. Nobody is interested. Its high farce.
GWS....setup was different......you know how tough things have been at CFC

thats no comparison..........

we are almost ready for an inquest.....its pretty strange

The worst thing is we really have nothing to look forward to at this point.

Effectively 2 games clear in last spot and we have traded the number 1 pick away.

Our young ‘guns’ are looking shakier by the week. Charlie Curnow? 14 touches, 2 marks? Awful. SPS? 14 touches @ 28% disposal effectiveness and 2 tackles? Yikes. Dow? 11 disposals and 2 tackles playing as a full time midfielder? Wowsers. O’Brien? Macreadie? Setterfield? Just not even close to being AFL players at this point. Silvagni is a depth player... Fisher - hasn’t come on from last year. Stocker and McKay ok in patches but still... Walsh starting to fall away too...

Bolton? I think his time is up. He’s a dead man walking now.Finish last and he’s done - and I can’t see how we get out of that hole. I’d suggest he gets until the bye. All 4 games are winnable - St Kilda, Essendon, Bulldogs, Brisbane@Marvel - I’d suggest if we win 2 of those he might survive a bit longer, but how likely is that?

O'Brien was fine today. One of few who was prepared to back into packs and apply himself physically. Just a shame that in 2 pre-seasons he has only managed to add like 3kg to his frame.

What have the fitness/conditioning staff been doing with him? His running was never an issue, so put some ******* weight on the guy.
is it the players responsibility or the fitness department? surely the players

We have three generations of loyal Carlton supporters in our family.

I went to all the games in Melbourne during the Dark Days and stayed until the final siren to support the boys.

I have maintained the patience of Job during this current rebuild. But I am sick of it.

I will always support the Blues. But is getting almost impossible to convince the next generation to be Carlton supporters. And I'm running out of excuses to keep them in the fold.

I know this will probably get shouted down but during the pre game show during footage of the rooms I just got the impression via body language and a few things the players did like a fancy handshake type thing that just screamed that they weren’t really switched on. Given that this seems to be a recurrent theme in terms of the intensity during games it increasingly feels like there is something really wrong with the culture still.

Wasn’t going to mention it until during my post game rant to my wife (who couldn’t care less but let’s me vent) I mentioned this and she said she noticed it too.

Don’t want to make too much of this but it does feel like this team lacks ruthlessness or a hard edge. Maybe it’s because they are young but good leaders including coaching staff should be on top of this. It surprises me because Cripps & Doc do seem the type to drive this.

Won the free kick count.

Green shoots.

Blows my mind, this.

Had almost half the touches, way less tackles...

I'd love someone to compare our performance today to last weeks' and explain why we managed almost 3-times the free kicks while attacking the ball a lot less.
