Re: Fev trade

Ok, I know a few guys who I consider trustworthy when it comes to inside info.

From what I've heard, Fev IS gone. They will accept an offer for him.

Re: Fev trade

$6 that Fev will remain at Carlton is look a beauty.

Am going to get a piece of that I think.

And how about the idiot that suggested we would be trading away Nathan Brown on top of trading away 2 draft picks + pay half his salary.....

Even Browny alone in a straight swap is a no from me.

Pivotal to hold down FB/CHB next season and succeed Presti.

Re: Fev trade

You don't offer to pay the club that gets him if you're just planning on dangling him out there to give him a scare. Fev is gone, he's pissed off a few important Carlton people and they don't want him at the club next year, him staying at this point is not an option.

Doesn't matter what they say, it's what they'll do.

They will get cold feet by the end of it.

Who needs Fev most? That would be Carlton.

It will be a business decision to keep him at the end of the day. It will not be the "high moral ground" they 'seem' to be taking.

Re: Fev trade

It will be hilarious if Carlton keep Fev, specially after trying to set a good example for the team by suspending those 3 young players who slept in before training. But hey, it's Carlton we're tlaking about here, I'm sure they will go against their own work if need be.

Re: Fev trade

I agree that Carlton will have to trade Fev now.

I think it's too big now and no one will have any respect for the Bluebaggers ever again if it comes to light that Good offers were made to secure Fev and they pulled out.

The Bluebaggers will look like such w***ers if they keep him.

They'll go with whatever Juddy reckons, he's pullin the strings and they wont want to piss him off.

Be funny if guys like Murph and Gibbs decided they wanted to head back to SA :D

Re: Blues to trade Fevola

Imagine Fev comes to the pies, kicks 90+ goals next year and we win the flag, what happens to Greg Swann, Kernahan, Ratten etc?

They get the lynch mob treatment and are chased out of Carlton.

fev 90 goal '10 at collingwood would be pretty annoying (well more than that), but i guess we can all dream. imagine fev, swapped for some promising youngsters and early picks, in his new team with different set-up and gameplan, only kicks 50 goals for the year. or he gets on the booze again, or some of those supposed extra and secret details (if they exist, i have no idea) about brownlow night come out - after he's at collingwood. hell, i might even want him at collingwood for those reasons. what other club would i want him to expensively stuff up at, more or less shafting them? ;)

Re: Fev trade

I wouldn't mind N.Brown, 2nd round and 3rd round... but N.Brown 1st and 2nd is a bit much...

If Brown does go... Reid CHB then when Presti goes... who's at FB? Maybe theyre planning to send Anthany back there???

Re: Fev trade

if fev is put up for trade after his brownlow medal behavior would you want him ? and what would you trade for him ?

No.
Too old(29),
Too unpredictable,
Too risky.

We shouldn't offer any of our future stars.

These players are pivotal to our future success as much as our current.

Also, whilst he isn't in charge yet, I'm not too sure Bucks would be thrilled about trading away our future gun FB when his tenure begins.

Presti will be long gone by then and the compromised drafts will sting us big time. Jack's days as a defender are over. He is far too important in the forward line with his strong marking and conversion.

Clearly you've forgotten 2Bia$ Co0lman

I can't see us letting go of Rambo or Reid though, the club believed we were on the right track before Fev was up for trade and I can't see them compromising that and dropping everything just to chase him.
By compromise, I mean trade a talented youngster in a position we aren't really well stocked in, because I obviously realise we'll still need to trade someone with currency to actually get him.

I wouldn't be a fan of us offloading Brown (8-10 years cert. at the top level in a key position) and pick 14 (reasonably probable chance of lengthy career) for a 29 year old.

They'll definitely want a first rounder though.

Re: Fev trade

This just posted on main board........More then likely BS

A friend of a friend of a friend who says it is "straight from a Carlton player's mouth" is that the follwing trade has been confirmed:

FEVOLA to Collingwood for Nathan Brown, 2 draft picks and half Fevola's salary paid.

I feel a bit ill right now. If this is substantiated, I'll yawn skittles.

This was just reported on the main board!!!

NOT BY ME.

Makes me a little ill and dont know where to sit on this.

Pick 14 better not be involved

Lol, then how do you thnk we'll get Fev??? With Danny Stanley + Ryan Cook???

If Pick 14 is not on the table, then you start talking about guys like Davis and Cloke and Reid and Brown.

Pick 14 is our only bargaining chip and even that is not good enough.

If we want Fev, we lose a first round pick.

Agreed, it is too much of a risk, let alone putting in 2 picks and our next FB... pretty big gamble.

Many will argue no risk = no reward.

However, this is a massive risk.

As I've said all along, if we can play hardball and "steal" him great. We will then know Carlton did take the "high moral ground".

However, to trade away early picks/potential star players in what will be "stingy" times ahead, is far too risky. It is simply not calculated not is it good business.

Re: Fev trade

it'll be like any trade as in we'll offer very little and carlton will want very much, at least in the early stages, it would be nice not to have to part with pick 14 but i would if we had too, if we had to give a player as well id only give up a fringe player like cox or goldsack, i definantly would'nt be giving up anyone out of brown, dawes, reid, which is what carlton will ultimantly want IMO, remember this bloke is a complete ******** even when he's off the piss and it would be a huge risk to the morale of the club, a risk worth taking though, but then again i would'nt mind the club addressing the problems we had getting the ball inside 50 during the finals, not much use having fev in the team if we concede 20 or so inside 50s to the opposition.

That's right, unless you're able to steal Fev from Carlton, Carlton's immoral
