Funny to watch the remaining hopeful ones clutching at straws.

Face it - Collingwood have blown landing Fevola. Other clubs go out and GET what they want. Vossy ain't stupid, Fevola teamed with Brown is ****ing potent and that's what he wants.

As usual we dick around protecting our picks and playing stupid games. In the last few years, I haven't minded too much as we needed to rebuild. However that finished last year with the recruiting of Beams and Sidebottom. Now we need a couple of mature, quality recruits to enhance the team and tie up weak spots. THAT'S how you build a premiership team.

Watch us **** this up again. But hey....with Trav Cloke kicking bags of goals and intimidating opposition backmen, what we worried about?

Look, if it comes to Friday at 2.01 PM and we haven't landed these deals, I'll be as sour as you are now. But I'm optimistic that Collingwood is being strategic and smart about these trades. I believe that Fev won't go to Brisbane. He won't move interstate, I mean, his wife has a business in Melbourne, another child on the way, and his other kids are just starting school. Not going to happen.

Fev will need to change his wife's mind about moving before this happens and who can see Brown and Fev getting along at the expense of Brown's mate Brayshaw

Thank chirst the Fev talk is nearly over. Now we can focus on Jolly and Ball.

How were we supposed to get Fev pray tell? Carlton made it quite clear they wouldn't deal with us unless we let them bend us over. I'm not in the mood for that today.

Jolly and then Ball were our first options and still are.

Relax.

Fair enough. History tends to repeat though.....just one bit of advice :

Expect nothing. That way anything we may get is a reason to celebrate.

Hinging your hopes on Alex Fevola is rather risky too I would think.

You'd reckon Alex would be close to leaving him if this move occured, wouldn't you? I mean, Fev was on a tight rope with her already from the recent incidents.

I just don't reckon we've seen the last of Fev. I think this is all smoke and mirrors; media speculation. We'll probably see tomorrow if that is the case or not.

I hate Carlton as much as you but take the blinkers off. They would deal with us if we were fair about it. We are not so they told us to get ****ed.

Our pick 14 and a young player of quality (we have plenty of them) would have done it with time to spare. Given Jack Anthony can play as a defender and having O'brien, Shaw, Maxwell etc already down back (as well as N.Brown coming on) I would have offered Tyson Goldsack.

Failing that.....the pick and Ben Reid. Either of those would have done it and look at what we lose in comparison to what we gain. Carlton want youngsters and/or picks.....it would have been plenty.

The reason we never land anyone is because the other 15 clubs are a bunch of *****. Luke Ball becomes Nathan Buckley when he wants to be dealt to Collingwood, yet when players want out at Collingwood we always fulfill their wishes.

**** em all. Bunch of *****.

While I love and endorse the 'screw em' attitude, I still really want these players to join our club. But all the clubs are stubborn as ****, so what are we to do? :(

Request not to play the ****ers in their home state and request to play St. Kilda once and as a home game.

Not sure how you know what Carlton would take for Fev but assuming you have inside knowledge for a moment, why do you think that offer wasn't made?
Maybe because they didn't rate the addition of Fevola worth it maybe?

He wasn't on offer out of the goodness of their hearts, he's been a headcase for years and it only took most of the decade for Carlton to have had enough of him.

You really think he fits in with us? At all?

On paper it would have been great to have him on board.

No inside knowledge.....just common sense. For sure, we know Fevola has issues but given EVERYTHING he has thrown at Carlton, they are still RELUCTANTLY wanting to part with him. Why?

Because given his sound body, his quality as a forward, his durability and his absolute talent to kick a football, they know they are losing out. Not only is he a gun but he will play good football for another 3 years at least. Could easily go for 4-5, he's that type of player.

Given our need for a power forward of quality, one who is a genuine MATCHWINNER.....doing what it took to get Fev is a no-brainer.

Giving pick 14 and one of Reid/Goldsack is NOT getting bent over. That's still paying under the odds for the best Full Forward in the business.

It ain't rocket science. It's just that Collingwood, for many years, refuse to take a risk. Maybe that's why we never win flags? Just a thought.

AGREED !!!!!! why why why why why don't we take a risk for once !

oh well very disappointing .. hopefully we don't find a way to stuff up the Jolly and Ball deal

I'd say judging by the trade they look likely to sign off on, that youngsters and picks are exactly what they don't want.

Also, the bit about looking at what we lose in comparison with what we gain is exactly why Carlton won't do that deal with us.

The clubs are just reluctant to do any sort of trading with Collingwood. That's what we are up against. It strikes me that Eddie may want to rethink his stance on free agency.
