Just had a listen to the latest episode of Kick Ons and Kiddy was on this week.
Unless if I missed it, I didn’t hear anything mentioned about his Glute tightness so maybe he is good to go, otherwise you would think they would mention something.🤔

On the Roar Deal Fish was saying that Eric Hipwood is equal 4th in the competition for goal assists, 1- Petracca, 2- Hawkins and 3- Miers the only ones in front of him.

Yeah settle petal. Just saying it’s a danger game like everyone else in this thread. No idea why you picked on me.
Petal…. Right. It is likely because a lot of time you like to make outlandish, majority of the time negative comments about the team in the lead up to games, gets tiresome, esp with the year we having. Sorry for ‘picking’ on you, didn’t know one comment and probably the only one I have made towards you for the year was ‘picking’.

Josh Dunkley done a job on Patrick Cripps and Matt Rowell lately, does he go to anyone this weekend.. Dawson?

I reckon it should be Dawson. Laird is great but when Dawson gets the ball with some space he almost always finds a target inside fifty. Let Lachie and Laird battle it out but nullify Dawson and you go a long way to stop Crom.

All good. Appreciate the apology. I wouldn’t say I make outlandish commentary before the games but I guess that’s subjective. I’m just passionate and know this team is capable of more. We’ve been building for years and still carry a few ongoing weaknesses but have improved as a unit as a whole. But we should still expect more.

Laird would be the closest match as that mainly inside big role, but I don't know if any is really necessary.

I think this will be a great game to run Neale, Dunkley and Rayner/Berry at a bunch of stoppages. The Crows will struggle to beat us in clearances and using our outside guys like Ashcroft and McCluggage to deliver the ball forward will cause them all sorts of headaches.

Best performed team of the year, not sure we could have done a whole lot more to this point. We are playing AFL opposition, unfortunately you don’t get to win every game and look a millions bucks doing it every week. It wasn’t so much an apology more pointing out you not really getting ‘picked on’.

:thumbsu:It is impossible to play to the peak of your ability physically and/or mentally every week in a long and arduous season, no team has ever gone through a season undefeated, the 2 closest in my time watching the game since the late 90s would be the Bombers in 2000.. losing 1 game and the other the Cats 2008 who lost to the Hawks in the GF.

We in all likely hood will lose a few games over the rest of the season and probably win a few when we don't play our best(which good teams do), what you aim for is an undefeated September. Quick calculation stat... if we don't lose another game this season the GF would be our 23rd straight win:eek: not going to happen.

No you shouldn’t be doing that in public 3kz smh.

Is Gardiner a lock as some here suggested? I think Joyce has the ability to play on the Crows forwards a bit better than Gardiner. Just worry having Lester and Gardiner in the same team will be exposed.

Hope kiddy gets up. Very important.

Would not say a lock at all. Joyce could 100% come in. I’m just assuming others, like myself, probably prefer Gardiner.

Ah Chee Joyce Lester
McKenna Andrews Starcevich

As a backline that works. Wilmot off the bench to rotate through and Gunston playing back for periods, which he has been doing. Ah Chee goes to Rankine.

I don’t see a place for Rich, especially as the Crows are quick and he isn’t. I would shore up defensive capacity further by naming Prior as Sub.

Hmmm, ball movement out of the backline might be stagnant with that mix. I'd prefer Madden in for Ah Chee & let both him & McKenna run the ball out handballing to each other ;)

Gardiner and Lester on Tex and Fog with Andrews dropping off to help out
Think Andrews will be required to play on Thilthorpe so not sure there will be a whole lot of "dropping off". Particularly if Thilthorpe plays closest to goal which seems a reasonable expectation.

There is chatter that Riley Thilthorpe could come back in, he's pretty handy for a young KPF and is 202cm and 105kg, who goes to him if we assume Harris goes to Tex? If Harris takes Thilthorpe then who goes to Tex?
I reckon Lester is a decent matchup for Tex, and Gardiner to Fogarty. On the whole they seem like for like to me.

Ultimately tho I think we'll have to win the midfield battle.

We have a history of friendly fire of taking our own out. Off the top of my head - Cockatoo on McStay in a final, McCarthy on Payne n a final, Clark on Brown, although that was Brown's fault, was it one of our own that hit Adams last year to?
I think Adams hit the ground pretty heavily in the 2nd quarter of that game. Played on until hurting his chest early in the last.

Cockatoo on McStay was a freak accident. Not much either could do about that.

McCarthy on Payne was appalling and one of the many downsides to having multiple players flying for the same ball. Something which we have done far less of this year! 👍
