OK then......."from what Ive heard"? From your own mouth maybe.....drop your source. If you can't, then mosey on.
I think that’s a bit harsh. I can respect the need for anonymity. Perhaps we as consumers of the info need to take it as subject to change or the opinion of the original source not nailed down fact

haha. I do hope we sign him for two more years. I think he'll two year offers elsewhere.

Oh well

If we do not sign Goldy on it is a mistake.

Like Brown was he is more value to us than we will ever get for him elsewhere.

Want to know. PM me. This site is literally a footy chat forum based on anonymity. How are we still at “drop the sauce” levels

FWIW I’m not coming from a position of malace with what I’ve heard KB. It’s simply what’s been communicated.

Yeah well I believe Brown's position at the club was untenable. Yes it would be a huge mistake and would be a very brave or stupid board that signs off Goldy's departure

Oh well
Untenable = clusterf*** from all sides.

Not really he’s 35 next year and we aren’t contending and we have rucks signed long term to get games into

I’d happily sign that off

I've seen the views held towards Buckley by many North fans due to things that happened 30 years ago. I think to suggest Buckley is the same person as he was then and to hold things he may have said or done against him is childish, but I've seen it with David King and maybe I shouldn't be surprised with the way Buckley is spoken about.

But my personal view is that if we're in the position of looking for another coach in the next 6-12 months, Nathan Buckley should be right at the top of that list.

Bloody good coach and was unlucky to lose his job last year. I don't think his coaching days are over and it's a matter of time before he gets another chance.
The day Buckley or Hird ever have official roles at NM is the day I check out.

You'd know more than me however it has always seemed that way from the outside and the club and Ben have largely been content to behave about it rather than scorching earth.

We may not have a choice on Goldy.

this is not the point.

the point is we got unders and if Goldy leaves we will get less than he is worth to us.

We'll get nothing because he very well may retire.

As long as he's not getting forced out I wouldn't begrudge him chasing a flag like Higgins did. He's given so much to the club.

I don't see him retiring on 295 games.

If he leaves (as distinct from retiring) I am not sure how it could be anything other than him being pushed out. He is our best ruckman, he is our best senior player, he's taking a backseat to future needs right now to the short term detriment to the team.

in the scenario where he chases a flag, we lose that and we get back a third/fourth round pick?

He is of more value to us than we will ever get back, IMO we would be pretty well place to put a one playing one coaching two year front ended contract in front of him.

Does anyone know current weekly contact hours are for afl lists? Ive got a vague recollection of it being lower than i thought, 30hrs or less. I ask because i wonder what percent of those hours involve game day. A small portion of their time but the only part we have access to stats/performance indicators over time.

For me, at this point id rather be hearing about how they're travelling between games. How are the skills tests going, how are the fitnes tests going, how are they progressing thru different level of drills complexity, how quickly are they recogising mistakes during match review sessions, how are they going when given scenario style questionairs, etc etc. These are the things the club knows that we dont. Almost all their contact.

Would it be beneath the club to share this stuff with us? The stuff that gives them their confidence. Would it be bullying the players to have them be publicly accountable in that way? Is there some clause in some legal doc preventing it? They could show trendlines without absolute numbers or names. The supporters need these little wins, nourishment even. Id love it. maybe the website has a ticker "days since skills session below 75%" or "ave. attempts per successfull game drill".

I value the role failing privately plays in getting better at something, highly, but even so.. just pump out total b.s if they must, we'll never know ffs. Id rather that than a free pie.

Interested to hear the thoughts from the happy clappers re: team selection this week.

Turner named in the 18… clearly accountability for senior players is being enforced.

Time to drop Powell again is it? despite playing well with his 70% game-time on the wing.

Don’t know what happy clappers is but personally I would have liked to see Turner omitted.

Golldi playing his 300th for Carlton is shitting on the club, the members and the man.
Honestly if they sign off on it I don’t know how the current board and admin recover from it.
It would be another disgrace on a long list of absolute diabolically poor decisions

He’d be in the company of North royalty would it to happen that way.

Pretty sure that Brown was offered a very good contract and his management knocked it back. He then proceeded not to take a mark or get a kick and they expected a raise on our offer. Getting the sack was his own doing. The market place is a great leveller, he only had the GoDees offer at about half the contract of what he could of got from us. Fair enough, he played in a premiership good luck to him. However he's not in the best of form right now and he's got a very strong midfield bringing the ball in, in my opinion he's not what we need.
