Can we make the top 4?

By round 20, Essendon will be more concerned over whether they pick Natanui or Rich than winning games, me thinks....

Essendon already have 3 wins on the board. Two more and they lose the PP (albeit between first & second rounds). They're two wins clear of Melbourne, so Natanui would appear to be out of their reach. Judging by the efforts of the coaching & selection panels last week, West Coast have their eyes firmly set on Rich and got themselves into the box seat to obtain his services.

Which would see Meesen slide further down the pecking order.

Considering Geelong, Hawthorn and the Western Bulldogs have already basically secured a top 4 sport with only have 1 loss each that only leaves one spot available.

It will come down to who beats who between Sydney, Collingwood, Brisbane Lions and us.

We play all 3 sides and we play them all away and our away record accounts for 3 out of our 4 losses so far this season. If we cannot beat Brisbane this week and then either of Collingwood (round 15) or Sydney (round 17) we will not finish in the top 4.

The good thing is that the future is in our hands. Beat all three, and that is realistic and we finish top four.

6th or 7th sounds about right
will likely lose most of the next 5 then win most of the rest on current form

our draw for the rest of the season is

brisbane away (lose)
geelong home (lose)
collingwood away (lose)
port their home (win)
sydney away (lose)
carlton home (win)
richmond home (win)
essendon away (win)
stkilda away (lose depending on team we have at the time)
bulldogs home (win)

so that would put us 13 and 9 and about 6th

I would have Syd down as a probable win, we have won 8 of the last 9 against them and 4 from 5 at the SCG. We seem to match up well against them and dont find the confines of the SCG a negative.

As long as we don’t do something stupid like drop a game to Carlton or St Kilda again you will on the money

And then we finish the season with a strong win against the Western Bulldogs.
