Based on watching that game and looking at their stats in sanfl under 18s here is my brief write up of both campos

Ben Camporeale
Position: On-ball / Wing
Strengths: Hands at Ground Level, Clearance Work, Size, Disposal (long penetrating right foot kick), Accumulation (reads the play really well), Balanced Mid (Can win the ball in tight but also receive and carry the ball)
Opportunities: Forward Impact, Kicking Consistency
Plays Like: Marcus Bontompelli
Draft Range: Top 10 - 2nd Round

Lucas Camporeale
Position: Wing
Strengths: Disposal, Vision, Quick
Opportunities: Versatility, Contested Work
Plays Like: Lachie Hunter
Draft Range: 2nd Round - Rookie Draft

Seen a few questions about their running. Both looking like good runners and are quick without being super-fast. Lucas needs to finds a 2nd position. I'd like to see him play off-half back next year as that would suit our list needs too. He's very outside at the moment. Ben looks like a pretty complete player but if he could have more impact forward as a mid that would take him to another level.

Obviously based off very limited viewing.

30 touches for Ben in 22 minute quarter is impressive. Like 40+ in a normal game.

Played wing not onball for pretty much the entire 2nd half too.
Any heat on other than the weather?

Add to that Andrew Walker’s boy Cody, 2 years’ after Campo’s boys, and we might have 3 quality sons coming through at the one time.

Very Geelong.......muhahaha!!!

I wonder if Lucas can be developed into an eventual replacement for Saad when he retires...

Ben clearly going to be in that inside-outside mix with Walsh and Hollands.

Plays like Marcus Bontempelli? Sorry, I don’t see anything like that. Wowee

And to think Cody Walker is meant to be the best of our upcoming F/S selections. A prime Walks would be absolutely perfect for us atm. 3rd tall fwd who can go down back and play through the middle.
I heard or read somewhere that AW1’s son is some freak runner too. Suits the modern game. AW1 was a huge professional with his preparation so he’d have the ability to prepare his son for the rigours of footy better than most should his talent be up to scratch.

Exciting times!

Was a little concerned Lucas was TOO outside. Actually has HBF seagull written all over him.

Couldn’t be more impressed by Ben. Could play wing, but far from a classic winger in attitude. No attempt to hold width, as opposed to his brother. When starting on wing was quick off the mark to get in to the thick of things. Is a ball hunter type.

While not hitting every target, the greatest plus for me was the penetration of both boys’ disposal. Neither sought dinky little kicks, all looked to positive targets and both literally capable of a flat 50 metre spot up.

Has anyone any knowledge as to whether either boy has has ever confirmed they want to play for Carlton.

Yeah I know they trained with us.

No confirmation but they are both big carlton supporters and have trained with us. Would be shocked if they didn't nominate us.

It's pretty rare that father sons choose to go open draft. Murphy did but we guaranteed to take him 1 so he could stay in Vic plus his family never considered the Lions part of Fitzroy (he was a roos supporter).

Everything suggests that they will be happy to come to us. Apart from training with us etc it's probably the most likely way that they can end up playing their footy together.

I say hold it. Clubs will pay overs next year for a 1st no matter where it lands.

I think you have made a comment regarding this in the past and i wondered then. Why? Interested to hear your thoughts.

What makes a 1st next year, more valuable this year? There is F/S’s and academy picks every year.

And Dunkley only went to the open draft as the Swans didn’t want him
