Nope, let’s go all out to get Nick Watson this year. He is exactly the type we need at half forward and will change the dynamic of our forward line immensely.

If we need picks next year then bring forward 2025 picks

We have 16, I’d say we would need our F1 to get to the top 5

Your post specifically referenced value of the pick at the draft, this is a quote from you.

Your above post suggests clubs will be keen to trade for our pick 18 so they can get a top 20 kid a year early and develop them.

I agree with this, I would like us to do this.

Our pick in the draft this year will be sort after by lots of clubs at draft night and so will the other picks in the first round.

Heaps of clubs will be looking to trade in to the top 20 this year
I was referencing at best we win the 2024 premiership and we get pick 18. Nothing to do with this year.

Don't see us trading our 2023 1st unless its to improve this year.

I wonder how involved we get in their development through their draft year?

As in would the club be telling the twins how we see their strengths, opportnutties, what positions we would like to see them develop in over the coming year?

16 + F1 + something else to get near the top 5.

If Watson or Caddy slide outside the top 10 and a club doesn’t want them they might bite. I don’t think it’ll happen and if it does I think there will be clubs with better offers.

great work, stamos - I now picture you in the state library, commandeering all the dailies and flicking through them intently, ringing the articles with a red pen...........a copy of australian rules umpiring guidelines permanently poking from your cargo pants knee pocket......

Ben Camporeale (Team Naitanui/Glenelg/SA)
30 disposals, 8 marks, 1 clearance, 5 inside-50s, 8 rebound 50s
A smooth-mover, Camporeale was able to break the lines coming out of halfback and was all class with ball in hand. He also spent some time on the wing, on his way to earning the best-on-ground medal. He is the son of former Carlton star Scott and is eligible to join the Blues as a father-son in 2024.

Lucas Camporeale (Team Selwood/Glenelg/SA)
19 disposals, 9 marks, 5 inside-50s, 2 rebound 50s
The twin brother of Ben, Lucas played on the other team and spent time through the midfield, in defence and forward. While he did not win quite as much of the footy as his brother on the day, he similarly showed nice composure and quality ball use as an outside player. While Ben is a right-footer, Lucas is a neat left-foot kick. He is the son of former Carlton star Scott and is eligible to join the Blues as a father-son in 2024.

Based on watching that game and looking at their stats in sanfl under 18s here is my brief write up of both campos

Ben Camporeale
Position: On-ball / Wing
Strengths: Hands at Ground Level, Clearance Work, Size, Disposal (long penetrating right foot kick), Accumulation (reads the play really well), Balanced Mid (Can win the ball in tight but also receive and carry the ball)
Opportunities: Forward Impact, Kicking Consistency
Plays Like: Marcus Bontompelli
Draft Range: Top 10 - 2nd Round

Lucas Camporeale
Position: Wing
Strengths: Disposal, Vision, Quick
Opportunities: Versatility, Contested Work
Plays Like: Lachie Hunter
Draft Range: 2nd Round - Rookie Draft

Seen a few questions about their running. Both looking like good runners and are quick without being super-fast. Lucas needs to finds a 2nd position. I'd like to see him play off-half back next year as that would suit our list needs too. He's very outside at the moment. Ben looks like a pretty complete player but if he could have more impact forward as a mid that would take him to another level.

Obviously based off very limited viewing.
Amazing how a year changes things. Last year, Lucas was the guy who was being rated as the top 10 player and Ben would have been the second rounder. Either way, we are getting a couple of really good youngsters who will tear things up.

Ben actually didn't play half back at all. Spent the first half almost exclusively on-ball and the 2nd half almost exclusively on the wing. Lucas played mainly wing and high half forward.

Lot's have changed..

Scott Camporeale has gone from 'soft, turncoat receiver' to 'Carlton champion and favourite son' since his boys entered the FS radar.. 🤣

(You heard it here first - been stalking him for a while)

Yesterday’s game was spectacular for mine. Lucas showed enough, without being outstanding, that boot is going to be a weapon. Ben is a genuine inside/outside MODERN midfielder. Lean muscle, but clearly well developed for his age. Excellent disposal by foot or hand and excellent awareness/peripheral vision. Will complement our group of “bulls” very well to add to Dutchy (with Walsh and Cerra staples) in coming years.

Cody very much a clone of his father, but has been making a habit of knocking off some of his father’s long held district records. Clearly will have the scope to play in “any third”. Biggest hope is for “that” hybrid x-factor forward/mid most of us covet.

Likelihood is we will be at the pointy end of the competition ladder for the next few years. Access to these boys is going to be critical in extending the window further.
What podition does he play Coona? I'm thinking forward ad he bagged 8 recently.. at a guess.

The beauty is that he is similar to the old man. Any third. Kid is a footballer and an athlete.
Best guess he starts forward, moving to the midfield. Positions are rarely cast in stone for kids and clubs have their own ways of developing them. Has played plenty of midfield to date, nit “just a forward”.

Always rolled my eyes at people reacting like that, eventually even with Hamill. We got a good deal for that trade, we just botched the draft hand we got.

RMC team upbeat on both of the Camporeale brothers.

When will Cody be eligible for the draft?
