This hurts.
Finals wasn’t a mathematical impossibility for the baggers until the 30 minute mark of the last quarter in Round 23 last year. If it’s anything like that this year, it’s a long wait.

Nah I meant I wouldn’t want to wait until the last game of the season to know we’ve made it, let alone miss it with seconds to go in the season.

I don’t think there’d be many teams with hopes of making a GF until you make finals or go deep into September though.

It’s just the blues hadn’t played anyone until Adelaide and then got chopped up.
Yeah, but many clubs have been inconsistent, so I don't feel the need to be concerned

True, but the journey is a lot more fun than missing it all together.
I know your mantra is that you’re either premiers, or you’re 2nd to 18th, which no one remembers, but in saying that, everyone would pick the fun journey with a few wins than the Carlton route.
Sure, many supporters measure success by the number of times they play finals, but as recent history shows, unless you are finishing top 3, you really aren't a contender
