Re: Carlton hype

Thats because you are a Pies supporter...you always overrate your list and underrate everyone else's ..even whan you lot get spanked in the majority of grand finals ..you still think you have the best side .

You do a lot of talking ..how about you quit for a while and let the two teams do the talking tonight ..one will lose and one will win ..end of story .

No its not because im a pies supporters, i use facts/stats to back up my argument.
Overrate our list?
Ill say it again, our list in the last 6 years hasnt missed a finals series and along the way have gone deep into the finals, including a premiership.
How are we overrating our list?
Our list has proven its better than Carltons, not only head to head, but against other opposition.
The only people overrating their list is Carlton supporters. I still specifically remember Carlton supporters talking up their chances back in 08-09, nothing has changed. You guys are thereabouts, but will continue to be 2nd best. You guys have done nothing yet, but somehow find ways to say we spruik up our team. What a joke, we have reason to spruik up our list.

The whole Swan and Pendlebury v Murphy and Judd comparision is tedious. One side of the ledger has proven success (at their current club), the other doesnt, i know which one id prefer.

Gonna be a great game tonight

Re: Carlton hype

I know you can not go on things like this but Collingwood and Carlton V Richmond might be an indication on where both clubs are at at the moment. Carlton smacked Richmond by 44 points and had 14 more scoring shots. Collingwood beat Richmond by 21 points and only had 1 more scoring shot.

Not to mention that Collingwood had half their preferred side out while Carlton were full strength...

Also Carlton have been finishing games off absolutly flying where as Collingwood have been finishing games off rather poorly.

Im tipping a close game until half way through the 3rd quarter then Carlton by 30 odd or poor kicking for goal to cost Carlton.

Go ahead, use that as an example, I think the end result was blown out a bit, the fact is Richmond actually looked like beating Carlton late in the 3rd where as against Collingwood they were never in a position to win late in the game. Collingwood controlled thier game a lot better than Carlton did. Our defence was also most superior against Richmond.

Wait, there was one scoring shot between you and richmond, you scored waaay less, and beat them by less - but somehow you were more convincing - thats so derisible in so many ways - people will just laugh in your face for saying this - even most pies supporters would laugh in your face - absolutely moronic statement.

Re: Carlton hype

This is a stupid thread, Greater Western Sydney under the great Kevin Sheedy are dead certs for the flag.

You are totally right...haha! Lucky if they make the finals in the next 10 years!

Going back to the Blues, I need to see how we go with the big teams before I get too excited!

Go the blues tonight!!

Can you win enough games to make the 4?

Think this year we have to play our best to...obviously!

We need to beat the 4 teams that were above us last year!

West Coast look good, you guys, Hawthorn and Geelong are the benchmark!

We weren't good enough last year but with the roster we have now (regarding fitness) I think we can.

I do agree with the premise of the thread, no doubt, but....

Carlton have played Richmond, Brisbane and a Collingwood side who lost their CHB and one of their most important inside mids during the game. Add those players to the already long list of injury concerns and they spread of talent is looking a lot thinner than it has in most recent years.

I thought Lethal made a very valid point during the match that Carlton and Collingwood are both great sides, but Carlton just started to stretch those small holes that were evident early more and more as the game went on.

A win is a win, and they'd be more than happy about that, but I don't think you'd find too many people who would suggest or agree that the difference between the Blues and Pies is 10 goals.

Blues had them well before pies lost a couple. They are travelling well. Silly for anyone to doubt them as they are a def top 4 chance, so this means they must be a flag chance. 16 improvers and six seasoned players still playing good footy. Must therefore be a fair bit better than last year where they were as close to top 4 as you could be without actually being.

Why do you use this alias?

We know you're a Carlton support, you realise?

BTW, I never said your team aren't a top 4 chance or a challenger for the flag, but after tonight they will probably be outright favourites for the Premiership after wins against Richmond, Brisbane and a depleted Collingwood.

you should never worry about the bagman. They give odds based on weight of money and predicted incoming money. Nothing more.

Carlton = '06 Eagles.

No forward line to speak of but the best mids in the biz.

Waite, Garlett, Betts and Hampson/Kreuzer resting in the forward line. Add their midfielders who can kick a goal or two and you've got the mix for plenty of scoring shots against anyone. Its their speed into the forward line that is doing the damage.
