Carlton chasing Ashley Hansen

Suppose he would be handy.

Nothing more than a 4th rounder,
or trade off a bit of deadwood from our usual suspects.

That's all I'd give up, but given our fourth rounder is after theirs, that's them using 5 picks in this draft, can't see it happening TBH.

Should read some of the comment on their boards, talk about idiots. Hansen is a dud, we have plenty of those in our squad at the moment. Hansen is slow, no defensive pressure, don't even know why we are bothering with talking about him.

if we did a deal like king+gardiner the saints got off the cats

That's the problem though.

The Cats let King go for nothing because they had salary cap pressures.

The WCE let Gardiner go because he had injury problems......amongst other things. ;)

They were never going to demand anything for them, and the Saints would have hoped that at least one of them played injury free, or between the two of them they could get a full year......they have been very lucky in that both have played for most of the year injury free.

I'd want to know his body was right.....and this doesn't really convince me:
Games played
2009 - 9
2008 - 13
2007 - 14
2006 - 14
2005 - 20
2004 - 6 games

One full season out of 6...........not great odds of him playing significant time for us.

I'm surprised to see he is only 26yrs old. Initially I thought he was closer to 28-29.

If he can show he still has something to offer then maybe a third rounder (his original pick)........and swap second round picks (some insurance in case he turns out to be finished)........but he'd have to REALLY prove that he is capable of playing > 16 games a season.

The Perth media will deliver any message the WC or Freo ask them to.
If they leak CFC is looking at a player and we are not it might put an idea into our heads they think.

Just think of him as a bigger version of Judd but with red hair.

We will accept nothing less than Yarran plus your first rounder to compensate us for the loss of this elite player.

cough Lewis Jetta cough

Err... Any speedy midfielder/winger will do surely? They can be Latvian for all I care.

Sorry,

However non Aboriginal - Torres Strait Islanders need not apply, I don't want them in our side if they are white.

We should adopt the Essendon drafting method under Sheedy, and I propose that prior to drafting our speedy winger - we should get him to complete the following flowchart:

Aboriginality_flowchart.JPG

Hansen has been out injured for the most part of the last 3 years. He has played a run of games here and there. In that 3 years the speed of the game has increased incredibly.

Hansen is slooow, a plodder, and mostly one dimensional in that he can only lead up and mark if you put it on his chest lace out. Basically, if you already have a plodder on your list, you persist but under no circumstances do you recruit a middle aged plodder that is slow.

His secondary role as a forward is to put on defensive 50 pressure - he couldnt catch a cold, and is the reason why he is not playing!

If he gets recruited, i'd be astonished!

Lets cut to the real issue here. The Weagles supporters can't stand the fact that Hansen is on their list. But unfortunately their coach made a public commitment yesterday saying Hansen was a big part of their future in 2010 and beyond. Might have something to do with the current Weagles KP forward crisis. They have JK and ....um......Lynch? Terrible list management is the culprit here. :)

Anyone who criticizes Lynch = epic fail.

You have clearly not watched an Eagles game for the past two seasons. Plays the Richo role, not much as a KPF anymore. How is your depth for KPF's too? I'd watch your own backyard, mate ;).

Thanks for Kennedy, btw, no longer bitter about the Judd trade. It seems like both clubs have won out, IMO :thumbsu:.

FWIW I think Hansen would do a serviceable job for a team with skilled mid's such as yourself. Similar to how he was a gun CHF in 06' when he had Judd et al. delivering the ball to him beautifully. I'd take a very low pick for him, he's going nowhere on our list. On yours, he could be what you need, a good lead up forward.

i must admit i do wince when i see kennedy do well, but in a good way, cos he's exactly what we need right now, I really do want him to succeed at wce cos he has shown he has unbelievable talent, i genuinely believe he could eventually become the best player from that draft, in saying all that though when u can get arguably the best player in the league, a brownlow medallist, norm smith medallist and premiership captain who has turned our club around dramatically, it's hard not to be satisfied, i agree both clubs won out of this trade, masten and kennedy will be a grade players and juddy doesn't need to prove much

This 'Hansen' story is just a 'smokescreen' by Judd and Carlton, we're working on secret negotiations to bring over Daniel Kerr and McKinely to Visy Park in 2010 :D

If Carlton are so keen on drafting a back up forward for fev, why not bring Russell Robertson into consideration? I believe his still got a couple of years to offer?

Do not want. Not even PSD.

really, would love daniel kerr at the blues, would give a 2nd rounder plus maybe like a steven browne or something, not that i dont like stevie b, but it would be like the west coast premiership team, plus a good key forward, would be awesome!

About hansen, would only take him at say 80+ like others, could be handy, but is very slow and injury prone, would rather take a gamble with a kid. Speaking of which, how's tiller going?

According to several media sources in W.A (Chan 7 10 and radio) Carlton have held meetings with Ashley Hansen and his agent about joining Carlton next year. Carlton are acting on some advice given to them by Judd and may try and do a deal in the trade window. Hanen has 1 more year left on his deal. Eagles want to keep him but will trade for a good offer, and if Hansen wants the move or initialises the deal.

Good chance of this happening it seems. Alot of people are talking about it over here

WA media are about as intelligent as you ..which is pretty sad ...you have zero credibility on here and are one of the dumbest trolls to grace Bf...Carlton don't chase hacks u moron .

You are on your own ..most sensible Carlton supporters would not touch the likes of Kerr with a ten foot pole.

on my own:confused::confused::confused:
i just want carlton to get their 17th premiership. I still think the excess crap that comes with kerr is fixable and worth it, If judd wants him, and he is up for offer, of course iwant him
tell me im wrong in that if we get kerr then in the likes of next year we would be a red hot crack at a 17th premiership!
