So Russell departs, resurfacing the ground and moving on injury prone players?

Timing is very interesting

Why is it interesting? Do you think they held off on doing these things so Russell could be blamed?

I'm thinking we had enough this year and we are opting to get rid of every possible cause. We should have got rid of a couple of players last year like we see we would do, but this is the Carlton way. Identify a problem, go nuclear in addressing it.

Interesting chat column in the Hun this morning with Glen Manton. Asked about his coaches… Parkin most influential and to quote “don’t waste your ink writing about Pagan and Brittain”

A bit surprising to hear that about Brittain. He was an assistant coach at the club for years and Parkin pretty much handed over the tactical side to his assistant coaches for the 2000 season when we made the PF, so it couldn’t have been that bad. Brittain didn’t go well as the senior coach but that doesn’t mean he didn’t have a very good tenure with the club as a coach.

No great surprise about Denis Pagan.

Not at all

Agreed

I believe that the close timing of clearing/changing of the HP department and resurfacing of the ground was strategic, and many of the injury prone will follow suit

These type of holistic approaches are also part placebo, mindset change can be very beneficial

So the issue is either the High Performance staff, injury-prone players, or Ikon Surface. Which should we get rid of?
