Must be something in the water. Crippa's hometown in WA has produced a number of top AFL players. .....Tap below for info..

His family has produced more than the town - Chris Mainwaring, Jamie Cripps and Patrick Cripps

3 flags and 2 brownlows between them

Well done to us for telling the AFL to stuff round zero! I don’t think any of the clubs involved figured out how to manage it in their training loads… with the possible exception of Sydney.

I don’t get all the bullshit of week earlier, it’s a week ffs.

We just ballsed it up totally trying to outsmart ourselves, one week earlier

I think the bye 2 weeks later was the pathetic side of it, and then other sides were having byes at 3,4 and 5 weeks. Who needs a bye in week 3?

It's like they're trying to rival the VFL with a Carlton having a bye every 2nd week

I reckon every side who played in round 0 (except for Sydney) struggled to figure out training loads. You could make the argument we would have learnings from the experience, and therefore we should give it a go again. But personally, I think it was a distraction and that we should make the season prep as straightforward as possible for the new fitness regime.

Agreed, the other ridiculous thing was that some teams who played in Round 0 had 2 byes before some teams got 1.

The issue I had with it was that the majority of the sides involved played deep in to finals so had a shorter preseason and then had to start their season a week earlier
